Staff are really friendly. Couches are dirty, the bed was hard but very clean and welcoming. We had the spa room and the spa was beautiful and relaxing. Area around the hotel is noisey most of the night. Sad because it looked so nice on line. We probably won't be back.

Many thanks for your feedback. We will certainly look into cleaning the couch, an oversight on our behalf. As for the bed being too hard... it is a commercial quality mattress which is designed to sustain varying body weights over time. Guests often remark that they had a very comfortable and sound sleep. In the end, it all comes down... More

The rooms are older but they were clean and the bed comfy - that's the main thing. It took me longer than I'd like to admit to find the light switch for the lights above the bed - and was quite frustrated to find they were hidden behind the pillows on the bed. The Restaurant is fantastic, well priced tasty... More

Many thanks for your constructive feedback. We admit the bedhead light switches in the older rooms are tricky to find and very close to passing ships. On your next visit, consider upgrading to a Terrace room which are more modern, spacious, have views of Devonport and are set back from the Mersey River. Yes, the Port Restaurant offers great value... More

I visit Devonport regularly for work and have stayed at many places, but the Edgewater is my favorite! The staff are friendly and helpful, the meals are true blue Aussie pub food and absolutely beautiful, the rooms are well appointed and comfortable... The staff have gone above and beyond to help us out and make our stay very enjoyable. Highly... More

Edgewater has so many guests that praise our facilities, services and friendly staff but too few take the time to share their wonderful experience. We are elated that you enjoy your visits to Edgewater. Edgewater is one the oldest pubs in Devonport (built 1884) but still puts on a good show. More

What a wonderful meal. I went for lunch with my daughter, granddaughter, and grandson. All our meals were delicious. I had the vegetable soup, my daughter had the pumpkin soup (both which came with 2 pieces of ciabatta with grilled melted cheese). My granddaughter had lasagna, chips and salad and my grandson had fish, chips and salad. We all enjoyed... More

The kitchen and food service teams were so pleased to receive your feedback and find that your family all enjoyed their dining experience. In the meantime... we will focus on serving 'hot' coffee. Thank you for your feedback, as it has helped to identify this shortcoming and will benefit all our guests. More

Well priced food and drinks with quick service. Chicken schnitzel was the size of the plate! Modern interior with nice prints of Spirit of Tasmania. There didn't seem to be a need to book, it was was only half full on a Friday night. Located on the other side of the river to the city.

Edgewater is an old Motel/Hotel that provides basic drive-in accommodation, a motel with the pub attached at the side. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Rooms are small and simple. Bed, TV, nothing fancy. The bathroom is small but functional. The bed was hard and lumpy, just like the pillows. Breakfast is ordinary and overpriced for what is served.

Thank you for your response, our Courtyard rooms are only basic rooms for the budget conscious traveler. Edgewater also has 3 other room types that are more spacious, modern, views and priced accordingly. Each room is fitted with a commercial grade KING bed that can be split into two for guest wanting twin rooms. It may have been the zip... More

Stayed here as our first night in Tasmania. Staff were really really friendly. Food was enjoyable. Room (waterfront) was clean and serviceable. Only issue was water kept running hot and cold in the shower and the shower door wouldn't fully close. Happily stay again for overnight stay.

My partner and I went there for lunch today. We both had the lasagne. The meals were delicious. And cheap! Very generous sizes. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Only fault is there is only 6 items to choose from on the lunch menu. Dinner menu looked more extensive

We found this place on booking.com as we'd arrived in Devonport. We were able to get two rooms despite not making any bookings prior and the price was very reasonable.
