We booked our accommodation at the last minute and the Pencil Pine Cabin was the only room available, we were very pleased with the room and it's facilities and thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. We mentioned that it was our anniversary and a bottle of sparking wine was in our room to welcome us, a very nice touch. Very friendly... More

Recently stayed with Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge in a deluxe spa cabin. The cabin was beautifully appointed, lovely bathroom although the shower door opened the wrong way. Beautiful Aprelles lotions and shampoos. Make sure rooms have additional blankets if you don't want the gas fire on all night as can get a bit chilly as the temperature drops. Meals were... More

We stayed here only one night during our visit to Tasmania, which was too short to explore this beautiful area! The lodge had got wonderful views, very clean rooms, friendly and professional staff and would provide you with excellent self-service breakfast! Wish I could stay there forever!

You would think that for the price of the room you would get free WiFi but not at this place. So despite the fantastic photos we took we could not post them or share them with anyone until we had left the area. The area is stunning, the breakfasts and dinners were sumptuous, the room was very good and had... More

Stayed 2 nights in a basic pencil pine cabin. Room was clean and comfortable but not worthy of $360 per night we payed. My 5 star rating is based on the surrounds which were magnificent, lovely views, lots of short walks close by with plenty of native animals about. Very relaxing and quiet. The included buffet breakfast was lovely, nice... More

Love the mountain lodge atmosphere. Our cabin was neat and comfortable with a great shower. The walks along the hotel grounds are wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay wishing we could stay for more. Breakfast was included in the price and considering the accommodation cost was $199, I think it was well worth it when comparing hotel rooms that... More

We travelled from Hobart to Cradle Mountain for a 3 night stay & we were pleasantly surprised to find that we had been upgraded to The King Billy Suite - luxury plus. Double shower, spa bath, twin sinks, seperate dressing room, 2 way fireplace between the lounge & bedroom, kitchenette & hot tub on the back verandah where we could... More

Totally agree with a previous reviewer ... overpromised and underdelivered. Cabins were generally clean, but not significantly better than holiday park cabins we'd stayed at elsewhere on the trip ... only these were 5x the price. Reception was underserviced, with queues building up due to other visitors complaining. Restaurant was overpriced and not creative. Waited ages and ages for service,... More

The cabins at Peppers Cradle Mountain are ok. The bathroom was dated. The actual room itself was cosy and had a nice feel. The dinner service was terrible. My husband and I went to eat at the tavern and there was a que of 30+ people. We then tried to get into their restaurant and could not. The staff informed... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is a unique wilderness experience, set right on the edge of the spectacular World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, just 2 hours drive from Launceston and 1.25 Hours from Devonport. At Cradle Mountain, you'll soon discover that fine food and wine are an unavoidable part of this rustic holiday. This superb escape showcases the best Tasmania has to offer with warm hospitality, sensational locally produced food and wine, breathtaking scenery and magnificent wilderness surrounds. The Lodge itself is warm and inviting with open fires, comfy chairs and cosy spots, perfect for enjoying the postcard views or just relaxing. Around Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge there are more than 20 walking trails that suit every fitness level. Imagine wandering through towering forests with trees older than mankind. Discover animal and plant varieties found nowhere else on earth. You can trek mountains, explore trails on horseback or mountain bike, and learn to fly-fish - just some of the many activities on offer. And when it's time to relax, guests can indulge in a therapeutic massage or sauna at the Waldheim Alpine Spa - the perfect place to soak away tension and time. Set discreetly within its pristine wilderness setting, Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge has 86 private timber cabins, offering 4 grades of accommodation. Each provides every comfort you could need, some with spa baths. Road Closures: There are a number of road closures around Tasmania at the moment that are affecting accessibility to Cradle Mountain. The Kimberley bridge in between Elizabeth town and Railton on the B13 is closed until further notice as the bridge has collapsed. The C138 from Mole Creek to Gowrie Park is inaccessible as the road has been closed due to the recent flooding. The C137 however from Mole Creek through Paradise just outside of Sheffield is open and a good way to bypass around the closures.
