Tasmania itself is delightful, and a must to visit. This island state of Australia has many parks and quaint villages. However, this lodge is a one-of-a-kind. The drive to get there is long and curving but well worth the while. The lodge is charming, with little cabins which are very well-equipped, roomy, with excellent views. Walks nearby offer views of...

We stayed for 3 nights in Pencil Pine cabin, which looked out to the pond and was very comfortable. The cabin had modern design with one queen and a day bed. I'm actually glad that our cabin had gas fireplace which was a lot easier to control and safer than the wood fire one. We also saw wallabies and wombats...

Accomodation is reasonable and comfortable. The restaurant is one of the best I have ever been to. It is a beautiful location and is near the Tassie Devil Sanctuary. But best of all it is a great location for exploring Cradle Mountain

What a great place to stay in the wilderness close to Cradle Mountain Lodge was lovely and very clean and a great idea not to have any internet or TV in rooms Evening meal was very disappointing and was worst than any of my local bistro's where I live And had no imagination Buffet breakfast was good

Dear Martin H, Thank you for providing some feedback on your recent experience with us at Cradle Mountain Lodge. We are disappointed to hear that the Tavern meal did not meet your expectations. We stayed in the King Billy suite for two nights.... Pure indulgence in the wilderness... Well worth the extra money for the upgraded service and facilities. The 'turn down' service was the best we have experienced. The abundance of wildlife a highlight, the open fire relaxing and romantic, the hot tub on the deck well soothed the tired muscles from...

We stayed at Peppers after staying in the Lemonthyme lodge, so I had to switch my mind setting from being in a wilderness lodge to stay more in a hotel style accommodation. So expect this, busy hotel reception so not as much personal attention. The were nice and correct but not perfect. Same with the cabins as they looked like...

We loved our overnight stay. Our suite was rustic/elegant with a wood burning stove and a balcony which overlooked a pretty stream and rainforest. The short walks on the property are a must, especially if the weather is bad and the longer walks in the national park are inaccessible. Meals were lovely and the staff was cheerful and helpful, especially...

The good: scenery, mountains and lakes around the lodge and the numerous, well maintained hiking trails, most of them with wooden slots and metal grid to prevent skidding, the fauna (wallabies, wombats and smaller kangaroos) running into you on every hiking trail around the lodge. We stayed in a suite that is quite spacious although some of the appliances etc....

Firstly, let me clarify: our holidays span 3-star hotels, B&Bs to luxury hotel resorts and private villas. So 'value for money' is not about absolute cost, rather it is what one gets for the top dollars Pepper's charges...unfortunately not much The feel from the staff is incredibly impersonal - it is as if you are a 'number' and reminded one...
