I had occasion to stay here last night and LOVE the place. From the moment I arrived I was made welcome. I arrived on the train from Sydney and was a bit early for check in, so I wandered up to town (5 minutes walk) and had some lunch at the café. Denise and her team had my room ready...

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst travelling. We booked a family room for the four of us which was fine. The room has semi been updated but there is still some way to go. Work on the building is still in progress and personally I think they should close the doors few a while rather than trying...

Hello Dirksdonuts, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. I feel that I need to clarify a few points that you have made. Our halls were all painted over 6 months ago but we have been working on the elaborate trim recently and I apologise if this was an inconvenience. When our guests checkin we mention...

Needed somewhere to stay in a hurry when we had a problem with our camper. Denise was great in finding us a room and we had a fantastic meal in front of a very warm open fire. Room was warm on a very cold night. We will be back

Three friends travelling together had a great experience. It began with the booking. We wanted a room with 3 beds and big enough so we could chat after dinner. We booked a room with 3 beds and a lounge area and that is what we got. Service was friendly, dinner and breakfast were both excellent. They are still renovating so...

We recently visited the Mt Victoria Manor prior to a hiking trip and the place had a great feel to it from the moment we arrived. The highlights were the tasteful renovation and the service level from Garry and Denise. The bar has a relaxing atmosphere with rustic new fitout and great place for pre / post dinner drinks by...

This is a hotel under renovation so there may be some inconveniences but the overall feel is of a charming hotel with a great dining room where one can eat in style. We stayed one night and because I required a ground floor room there was limited choice but a friendly hostess found a nice bright but small room scantily...

We had a fabulous room, nearly double size with a really comfortable king bed and perfectly preserved antique furniture. The bathroom had been recently renovated and had a luxurious good-sized bath. The room itself had huge windows onto the balcony looking over the gardens and the local area. As it is located on a tiny side road, there is no...

Had two nights here with another couple and all enjoyed our stay. In quiet street, just off highway opposite park and our shared East facing "Orchardview " Suite was self contained with large cosy sitting room opening onto large verandah. Ate in Restaurant both nights and enjoyed a good variety of meals. Breakfasts were also good with the usuals. Lovely Historic...

Went here recently with friends on a Friday night for drinks & dinner. We started with drinks in the recently refurbished bar & the atmosphere was really very good. We then went into the dining room & had fish & chips with salad. The food was very good & the service excellent. The building is from the 1800's & it...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mount Victoria Manor, once the weekend residence of J.R. Fairfax was built in 1876 on the most commanding point at Mount Victoria. Mount Victoria Manor is a magnificent, rambling edifice constructed on solid stone foundations, embellished architecturally with cedar fittings, leather ceilings and highly decorative anaglypta wallpaper. Currently undergoing a renovation with the theme 'Heritage with a Twist' it has retained its impressive qualities, combined with an ambiance you can feel as you walk in the front door. The onsite restaurant 'Coopers' serves hearty country food using as much local produce as possible. Our herbs are delivered daily by a local gardener who works with our team to create fresh wholesome food. Our bar has a Spanish feel and serves tapas style food just perfect to eat whilst sitting in front of one of our open fires. Mount Victoria Manor is situated in a small 19th century village. The house has 13 en-suite rooms and 3 apartments all individually decorated with queen or king ensembles, feather doonas and electric blankets. All rooms have en-suites and the apartments have a shared bathroom within each unit. Our gardens are also undergoing a renovation and we have plans for a kitchen garden and we are rejuvenating our orchard. ... more   less
