WOW, what an amazing weekend both myself and our group had. Nestled in amongst the working property of Kings Plains Station it is truly a 'Jewel ' in the crown of B&B accommodation. From the architecture to the surrounding grounds this property is just beautiful, picture perfect in fact. We decided to self cater for all meals excluding breakfast. Breakfast...

We stayed just one night but had a wonderful time. Amazing place to visit. It's a bit out of the way but well worthwhile. Hosts were wonderful and gave us a tour in the morning. Rooms were clean and very large. Facilities just fine. Breakfast was very good

My husband & I stayed only one night. Lots to explore in the castle which we had all to ourselves. Our hostess, Colleen, was terrific. We arrived after sunset & she was there to welcome us with a drink & to make breakfast. She even found soy milk for me, & mailed back to me a shirt I left behind!...

OK so it was some time ago that we stayed here (Dec 2008 so ignore the travel date below) on a stopover from Bris to Sydney. The drive up the gravel road was magic - all those parrots! We were the only guests in the vast place and had our choice of any of the amazing rooms. We'd pre-ordered pies...

We spent three nights in the castle and had a fabulous time. We had the Kings room which is a must...we were met by the most warm hostess Colleen who had all the fires lite and the place warm and inviting. After a tour and intro to the castle and its specialties and attractions we were left to settle in...

We were unsure of what to expect when driving the good gravel road to a castle in the middle of the Kings Plains! We were so pleasantly greeted upon arrival at this beautiful dwelling! The interior is warm and comforting and well appointed. Each room has a name and is distinctive and very comfortable. The King room is the very...

Had heard about a castle in NSW a few times but kept forgetting the name, then eventually stummbled on it on the net and thought wow, have to go there. We booked the ensuite room and pre ordered dinner a 2 course dinner. There is a gravel road for a few kilometers to get there which we were a little...

Our group of 14 adults spent four fantastic days at Kings Plains Castle, circa 1910, and thoroughly enjoyed our reunion there. Our host, Colleen Hollingworth, took us on a guided tour of the castle, which included former servants' quarters, old billiard room, kitchen and the castle turret accessed via an internal ladder. Outside we explored the gardens, heritage-listed cemetery and...

For those wanting a holiday out of the ordinary, this is the place. Amazing accommodation in a "castle"...not the fake, on a smaller scale variety, but a true to form castle that makes you feel as though you really are in the heart of Scotland. It's the little touches and authenticity of this place that makes it special. I highly...

The view from the top of the Kings Plains castle battlements is uninterrupted. The fact there’s nothing but gently rolling bush and grazing paddocks as far as the eye can see makes this hideen gem of a bed and breakfast in the New England area of New South Wales all the more remarkable. What must the neighbours have thought when...

“King Room is the best but most expensive. It is the only one with en suite. Emma is next largest , with bathroom nearby down the hall. Easy to access. Emma has a great balcony and wonderful views of the plains, sunrise and sunset! (In summer)”
