The George Boutique Hotel is a Victorian guesthouse in the Upper Blue Mountains village of Blackheath. Guests can enjoy the feeling of true Blue Mountains hospitality. We have the main house which has 9 ensuite rooms, lounge and sitting areas, and we offer an included Continental breakfast. We are on 2 acres of established gardens and only a 3 minute walk to the village of Blackheath where you will find many great restaurants, cafes and local pubs. Our very own Blue Jax Restaurant is open every night of the week and is very popular amongst locals. If you are travelling in a group, we also have garden cottages which are self contained.

Said to be a 4 star hotel. Queen room did not have fridge or wardrobe (just some hooks on the wall). Bathroom was so small (the size of a wardrobe) you had to walk through the shower curtain to get to the toilet; the sink/basin didn’t even fit in the minuscule bathroom and was in the main room. Horrible noise from the highway - no sound proofing. Expected more from a $200 room.

Very comfortable stay. Lovely breakfast. Welcoming host. Lounge room facilities. Great location for Blue Mountains. Be sure to request a room towards the back to eliminate road noise. Only suggestion for improvement is to upgrade the Tiny Teddy biscuits left in the room with tea and coffee.

This hotel is old. No renovations have been done. Bed was awful, mattress disgusting. No window in room, . Bathroom minuscule, no fridge in room. Lots of blowflies. Does not offer room service or a restaurant. Parking minimal off street. Slip road parking, but leaves car vulnerable . Not a place I would return to.

Described as a boutique hotel, “combining the luxury and comfort of modern life and quality of service reminiscent of a bygone era”, one gets a sense of what to expect. I did expect the suite to have a small refrigerator. I did expect the suite to have a bottle opener. I did expect there to be more than one tissue in the tissue box. I did expect the suite to have wine glasses. I did expect the toilet paper to be on the toilet roll handle. I did expect the Wi-Fi to be a little faster. I did expect to have a shower in the morning, I turned on the hot water and waited. Nothing hot coming forth. Thought I would have a shave while I waited. Still nothing. My complaints to the manager were dismissed with “Oh, I will look into that.” Hardly “luxury and comfort of modern life” as the hotel is described. But perhaps I am expecting too much. I didn’t expect there to be so much noise, trucks from the Highway, trains from the rear of the property. What happened to double glazing a “comfort of modern life”? I didn’t expect to have to call the manager to get the air conditioning to work. My expectations were high, my experience low, very low.

My partner and I stayed here one night and found it to be a very comfortable and pleasant experience. Location was great, very close to the shops with Katoomba just down the road. Would definitely recommend
