We have just visited the Horseguards in Tillington and had another superb lunch. We started with potted trout and delicious dark bread, fantastic ham hock, chick pea soup, Followed by perfect roast beef? Beautiful vegetables, also, scrumptious pork, and roast shoulder of lamb. Food was amazing Can't wait to go back Great atmosphere full of life Lovely decor.

We're local and after many outings over the years have found that this pretty pub is the most consistent for food for many miles around. It's just won best dining pub in the 2017 Good Pub Guide. Went with discerning friends who chose a light lunch menu. After finding our first choice had sold out (at 1240) we were offered...

Great menu - beautiful, seasonal, scrumptious food. Friendly, engaging staff. Lovely decor. Spot on attention to detail. Great garden. Look out for the shop hidden in the garden. A perfect Sunday lunch!

Excellent food and service. Burger was very good and venison was delicious. Good cheeseboard. Lovely old pub, cosy. Very busy at lunchtime during the week, so glad we'd booked. Dog friendly too and convenient for a walk in Petworth Park.

We have eaten here before but this visit proved to be disappointing. Fully booked for lunchtime so the kitchen would have been pretty busy. Some of our group have very good main course meals but the rest were not edible which was embarrassing and disappointing. This was dealt with but it would have been much better if we had been...

We visited this pub after reading about it being awarded "The Best Pub 2017" earlier this month. We booked for lunch and were not disappointed. The staff were great, the menu varied (although more heavy on meats) and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. We had a starter of sweetcorn pakoras, that were not on the menu as we asked about...
