We had a truley stunning lunch here today . All of our food was delicious and even the fussy eater mother in law didnt mutter a word of complaint. The staff are freindly and attentive and although the prices were not cheap the were more than reasoanable for the quality of food presented. I will definatly be eating here again...

We arrived at 6.00pm 0n the 15th April 2017. The pub/restaurant/Inn was built in the 16th Century and is steeped in history and oak beams. The lovely bar staff could not be more helpful. The dining room is to the rear of the Inn and is seclded from the main bar. There is a fabulous menu with a great number...

We've been here before for a pub meal which was good -this time we went into the restaurant and I was more than impressed by both the service and the quality of food. The fish and chips was cooked brilliantly - portions are good, they do small portions for kids and the waiters are very friendly and genuine. Was very...

'Roast Chicken with roast potatoes all the trimmings' (£1)5 tasted and looked a bit like a school dinner. Potatoes were not in any way crispy, and tasted like they'd been sitting around for some time. Chicken was dry and over cooked. Gravy was too thin and not tasty, and a few green beans and a few bits of cauliflower looked...

Having had past awful experience about 18 months ago we discided to try the new look table of six for dinner was terrific .great food and perhaps just a little to large portion of Wellington for some guests - but beautifully cooked, no complaints from anyone. Our waitress was a little pushy in getting more wine ordered but very good...

Typical pub down the block from Claridge. The fish and chips was nicely breaded and the peas were blended but still mostly whole. The chips were well done, just as I like them. My kids had the chicken Caesar salad and there were massive chunks of chicken in it. Nice place for a beer/lunch.

Been twice in the last month. First on a Sunday very good menu including excellent roast, my favourite was the belly of pork with all the trimmings. Been again during the week and another great meal with a full menu, all four of us enjoyed it and the black pudding and iberico ham croquettes were sublime.

We had a four course meal which was outstanding. The service was friendly and very efficient. Our friends who stayed overnight in five of the rooms considered the rooms excellent. There were 18 family and friends

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Running Horses is a perfect country inn at the heart of picturesque Mickleham village in the Surrey hills. Step inside and you’ll discover one of the most charming places to eat and stay in Surrey. Dating back to the 16th century, it was once a coaching house. Back in those days, the inn’s clientele provided rich pickings for highwaymen. Thankfully, things are a little more peaceful these days, but some traditions live on. You’ll still find wonderful home-cooked British food, made with the freshest ingredients, accompanied by a wine list to compare with the top restaurants. The Running Horses has been family owned and run for the last fifteen years. And because we’re not part of a chain, the inn is full of character and individual touches. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome from the moment you enter the cosy bar with its roaring log fire. ... more   less
