It's clear they are spending some money to improve this place. The room was very similar to a Premier Inn in terms of layout and facilities. it had clearly been refurbished recently. The reception is being improved as we speak. leisure facilities (pool/hot tub/sauna/steam) are small but clean and when I visited were relatively quiet. I can't comment on the food as I didn't eat here, but the room was comfortable and for £64 I was perfectly happy, it's a good 3 star hotel. There was some noise from the road. I'd stay again for a night if needs be.

Pleasently surprised. My room was above my expectations and for a one night stay was perfectly adequate - seemed to have been recently refurbished. Bed was comfy and had a really nice nights sleep. Breakfast buffet was nice and staff in the restaurant were attentive.. Leisure facilities (pool, jacuzzi, steam room) clean and presentable. Would stay here again for sure. Only reason for four stars were a few hairs in the bathroom on the floor and in the bath on arrival and if it was any warmer outside, the temperature in the room would have been a bit uncomfortable despite a fan being provided. For £60 a night on a deal though, I can’t really complain - good value. -All-in-all, very good.

Basically if you don't expect too much you will be fine. I arrived to rude reception staff because I could not remember the registration plate of my car. The room I stayed in was very small and it was not clean, for example I found dead fies near the window. I decided not to stay for dinner but breakfast was good, as was the spa. The hotel badly needs modernising...it is not a place to come for a luxury weekend but if you just need a room for the night it is OK.

On arrival the hotel appeared to look nice beautiful grounds we were greeted by a lovely receptionist who told us our room wasn’t ready but we was early so was expecting this. She kindly stored our bags behind reception desk and asked us to sign our car in for the parking otherwise you could receive a fine. We went off to have our pre booked treatment at the spa. Both our treatments (facial and back massage) were amazing- both girls were very professional and knowledgeable. ( sorry didn’t get their names) Spa areas were very clean. Pool area deceiving in pictures. Was told at reception we would get dressing gowns and slippers at the spa but wasn’t offered these. Once we used all facilities in the leisure area we went to the restaurant to have our pre booked afternoon tea which sss booked for 3pm. We waited 45 minutes for our afternoon tea. And watched the other two tables receive theirs and finish theirs. We thought perhaps they had to cook and prepare it all as we were vegan and vegetarian but surely they should of been prepared for this as was prebooked a month before. Whilst sat in this room we noticed the floors were dirty with crumbs of food which could of done with a good hoover. When the tea came out it looked lovely but the sandwiches were stale so we fed to the birds outside. So very disappointed with our afternoon tea. Our room 300 was generally clean however on closer inspection wasn’t so. (Have uploaded pics) certain areas tired looking so could do with updating. Shabby looking net curtains with marks on. Stained wooden unit. On the wall in the light it looks like someone has graffitied a word on there. It has been covered by paint but I think it needs replastering. Dirty marks on walls. We were woken up at 7.45am by the cleaners hoovering in the corridor outside our room which was very annoying. Certain areas of the hotel need deep cleaning and also updating. The restaurant and toilets near the ballroom were not cleaned to a high standard. In the toilet bowl it was filthy and on the window seal dead spiders and flys. Breakfast was very disappointing and Very disorganised. Requested clearly 4 vegetarian sausages (two each) and a poached egg waited 15 minutes to come out and they only bought out the egg and two sausages. I made a member of staff aware so then my mum in law had to wait another 15 minutes. By this time I had eaten my breakfast so when my mother in laws sausages came out I had to wait for her to finish. Also as the buffet breakfast finished at 9.30 ( I think this should be extended to 10.30) they start clearing everything away bang on the dot. So when my mum in law got her sausages the other hot breakfast buffet had more or less all gone. And was told it’s all coming off. Coffee on offer is cheap, weak and tasteless. And again the restaurant needs a good clean. The floor and the windows need cleaning. Dirty cups on the trays were you fill up for tea and coffee. Not acceptable. Would we stay here again NO we wouldn’t we are so relieved we booked this through a deal on woucher because if I had paid more money I would of requested a refund. This hotel has alot of potential as it’s in a beautiful area but lacks disorganisation and communication with staff and needs a deep clean and some areas updating

Rooms Whilst this is advertised with spa in the name, the rooms were a very nice version of a travelodge style room. The room itself was very comfortable, nice bed, decent desk to work at, wifi works well (used for work laptop and streaming video) and was very clean on arrival. TV remote didn't work but I wasn't that bothered. This recieved the first star. I was roomed in the lower floor DO NOT ACCEPT A ROOM THERE! The room backs onto what is refered to as the gardens, but is actually a drinking/smoking/kids run around area. Both nights I stayed I was woken in the middle of the night by people discussing their woes in the garden or corridor after one too many vinos. This wouldn't be so bad but the cleaners start at 0700 and feel everyone else must be up at that time too. On my final morning I left at 1115 and never once had any peace that morning when in the room with the cleaners just shout down the hall to each other whilst working. Gym I used the gym for one session. It is fairly well equipped with free weights, weight machines and some CV machines. The gym was good, but quite warm. I used it in the morning about 0930 and I was the only one in, busier before 9 and in the evning by looking at the signing in book. Fine for stopping here for a short period. Restaurant Only used for the buffet breakfast which was very nice serving continental and full English. The best bit was the very astute service by the lady that worked there, I didn't get her name but noticed she had a hearing aid. If she or the manager sees this, she is wonderful and deserves much more respect from some of the other clientele. She was as busy as anything and helped me out with water bottles. You earn the hotel the second star. The reason I didnt eat here in the evening was the cost, it was much cheaper to go to a local pub and having a set menu. I was due to stay for 4 nights and only stayed 2, this was due to a change in business arrangements but was pleased to not be woken again.

Dear Anonu673 Thank you for submitting a review on Trip Advisor following your recent stay at the hotel. I was of course concerned to note your comments since it is never our intention to have anyone leave the hotel feeling anything other than completely satisfied with the service, hospitality and facilities they have received and I am very sorry therefore for our apparent failure to entirely with your expectations on this occasion although it appears from your comments that you were in fact happy with the standard and quality of your accommodation, the facilities provided within our gym and the food quality and service received at breakfast so it is a little disappointing to have only been awarded two stars. I am very sorry if you were disturbed both nights during your stay by the apparently inconsiderate behaviour of other hotel guests using the outside areas of the hotel which fortunately is not a regular occurrence but not something we can be held directly responsible for although please be assured that every effort is made to ensure the overnight comfort of all our guests as, when and if matters such as this are brought to our attention at the time. With regard to noise caused by our housekeeping team on the final morning of your stay, this is not acceptable and I will of course raise this issue with the hotel's Head Housekeeper to ensure that her team are reminded of the fact that guests may still be sleeping in the early morning and that any noise should be kept to an absolute minimum until after check-out time. Please be assured that we do take all forms of constructive feedback very seriously indeed and I sincerely hope that this experience will not deter you from considering staying with us again in the future when you have my personal assurance that we will do our utmost to ensure you are allocated a quite room and well looked after. Kind regards Tim

Stayed 27 / 28 April 2022. This is a nice hotel, our room was good, we enjoyed using the pool and spa and the breakfast was excellent............. however..... The first issue is the lack of staff. Reception was never manned. We used the self check in and input our car registration on arrival. There was nobody to tell us we needed to repeat this process on subsequent days. WE HAVE JUST RECEIVED A £100 PARKING FINE FOR THE FIRST DAY OF OUR STAY!! Naturally I am furious and have already appealed via the parking company as other reviews on here clearly indicate that the hotel cannot or will not help. It was annoying that there was never anybody on reception. We wanted to try and get the hotel to get us a local taxi to take us to dinner but there was nobody to help so I had to drive. We enjoyed our stay but the parking fine has totally soured our experience. The hotel is well away from anything else and there is no other reason to park there. The whole parking issue feels like a scam. Sadly we will never go back.

I was of course concerned to note your comments since it is never our intention to have anyone leave the hotel feeling anything other than completely satisfied with the service, hospitality and facilities they have received and I am very sorry therefore for our apparent failure to entirely with your expectations on this occasion. Please accept my apologies if there was nobody present at the reception desk when you arrived however, there is always a member of staff on duty and available 24 hours a day. If for whatever reason the reception desk is unattended at any time there is a paging system available on the desk to summon a member of the hotel's team to assist you as receptionists do occasionally get called away from the desk to assist other guests with various queries. The reason you have received a parking penalty charge is that you did not enter you vehicle's registration details in one of the two parking permit tablets situated on the main hotel reception desk despite the on-screen prompt on our self-check-in kiosks clearly advising guests to do so. You need to enter your registration details in the check-in kiosk as part of the hotel's registration process and again in the parking tablets to issue you with the permit for the correct length of stay which it asks you for when you enter your registration details as this system is separate to our own and operated independently by the parking management company. If you enter the number of days you are staying at the hotel there is no need to repeat this process on subsequent days as you have claimed. The 'hotel' is unable to deal with the PCN that you have been issued as we do not have any direct contact with the parking management company nor do we have the authority to cancel penalty notices that have been issued directly. From your comments you have clearly been in contact with us and we have advised you of the process to follow which involves you initially having to appeal the parking charge directly with the parking management company and then if your appeal is unsuccessful we are able to re-appeal the charge on you behalf which can only be done following your appeal and then only indirectly through one of our colleagues in our Colchester head office. I thank you for your very positive comments regarding the hotels facilities and the quality of our breakfast which are much appreciated and gratefully received however, I am very sorry for the apparent frustration the parking fine issue may have caused you but, the parking permit system does work well and we have hundreds of guests stay with us every week who have no issues with the system itself or the procedures we have put in place advising guests how to use it. Kind regards Tim

Stay here if you want a parking fine! We stayed in March and have been fighting a parking fine since. We arrived with our family and parked in there car park like everyone else. At check in there was no staff and we checked in on the self check in, where we put are car details as requested. A few week later we received a letter from civil enforcement fining us for are stay at the hotel. The fine is now at £100 and I have given evidence of my stay and they are still trying to fine us. The hotel should be dealing with this straight away but have waited until the appeal has failed and my fine doubled! This shouldn’t happen when you are staying in the hotel, it’s unacceptable and has added stress that I should not be going through. It completely ruined the experience and we won’t use any hotel in this chain again.

We stayed here for a couple of nights after purchasing our stay on Groupon and had a lovely time. When we arrived, there was a wedding party so reception was quite busy but it was easy enough checking in on the self check in screens. The double classic room was lovely with a very comfy bed. I would say the room was quite hot but a fan was provided. Room service, breakfast and the restaurant food was lovely. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Staff at reception is quite scarce but you can generally find staff to help. The spa facility is more like a leisure centre than a spa. Facilities were ok but changing rooms were in need of an update and towels looked like they needed to be replaced a long while ago. The location is on the motorway so will need some form of transport to get into Farnham. This was a lovely town to visit and people are so friendly. No parking fines and hopefully it will stay that way. Be sure to put your vehicle registration and change the length of stay accordingly on the tablets provided. There are plenty of signs prompting you to do this. Overall a lovely stay and feel very relaxed on our return. Would visit again.

Dear Tinatheexplorer 82 Thank you for submitting a review on Trip Advisor following your recent stay at the hotel. I was very pleased to note that overall you had an enjoyable stay with us and I thank you for your very positive comments in respect of food service and hospitality you received with are much appreciated and gratefully received. Please be assured that we have got new leisure pool towels on order but like with most things in the present economic circumstances we are having to wait much longer for our deliveries to be received. We are also due to refurbish the leisure club shower cubicles in the next few weeks with new tiled flooring being installed which will make a significant difference to the overall appearance of the changing rooms. I am also pleased and mightily relieved that you have not received any parking penalty notices to date which would suggest that you correctly entered your vehicle's registration details and the correct length of stay giving you access to free parking as advertised and as you have pointed out, there are 'plenty' of signs prompting you to do just that! We look forward to hopefully welcoming you back in the not too distant future when you have my personal assurance that we will continue to do our utmost to ensure you are well looked after. Kind regards Tim

This is my third visit and I do love it here. My only gripe is that the accessible room didn’t have a stool for the shower. I’m in a wheelchair and I thought the point of these rooms are to help. That’s my only issue though. The staff are friendly and the spa is always nice.

Dear Verity F Thank you for submitting a review on Trip Advisor following your most recent stay with us and for your very kind comments in respect of the friendliness of the team and the quality of the leisure club and spa facilities which are much appreciated and gratefully received. With regard to the provision of stools in the wet rooms of our two accessible rooms you are absolutely right and when we refurbished the two rooms earlier this year we intended to install fold down shower seats in both rooms which at the time were were having difficulty sourcing but I will talk to my maintenance team again this week and we'll get back on the case to see if we can't get this resolved as quickly as possible. We look forward to seeing you again in the not too distant future and hopefully we'll he the shower seating sorted in time for your return. Kind regards Tim

We stayed in March 2022. We booked one night thinking that it was a good deal and we fancied a Spa experience on our way home from a lovely celebration weekend. Arrived at the hotel which is on a main A road parked in the hotel car park as it would be the obvious thing to do. There would have been no other option. Tried to check in and there was no one available on reception so went over to the self check in, we entered our car registration and thought nothing more. The hotel was not great its tired and needs an update, we could see it had potential and wondered if it was once was a great hotel. The Spa was disappointing but we thought all of this reflected in the price. I would not have written this review if it wasn't for the fact that I am now nearly 2 months on disputing a £90 parking fine. We checked out and went to our car there was no ticket on the car so had no idea and weeks later received an email with the fine from our car leasing company. I initially thought it was a spam email because I could not believe it !!!!! How they get away with this is crazy there would be no where else to park as it is in the middle of no where on a busy main road. I would have rather paid £170 to stay in a better hotel for the night and walked. This has now made a very poor hotel very expensive and I would not recommend it to anyone. The hotel should factor in the parking if they are going to charge but this is ridiculous its not a city hotel with other parking options. We wont be staying again that is for sure.

Dear O1665CGsarahk Thank you for submitting a review on Trip Advisor following your recent stay with us. I was of course most concerned to note your comments since it is never our intention to have anyone leave the hotel feeling anything other than completely satisfied with the service, hospitality and facilities they have received. It appears from your comments that upon using our self- check-in kiosks you unfortunately failed to follow the on screen prompt that requests you to enter your vehicle's registration details in one of the two the parking permit tablets situated at the hotel's front desk which are separate to the main check-in kiosks and this is why your vehicle was not registered and the reason for you having been issued with a parking penalty notice. There is however generally always a member of the hotel's team available at Reception to assist guests if they are having difficulty although, if they are ever momentarily called away from the front desk there is also a paging system available at the desk to call for assistance if require. The reasons for having introduced a parking permit system in our car park are many but I do not feel it necessary to go in to the details on Trip Advisor suffice to say that it is not only city centre hotels that have parking issues and ours are very different precisely because of our location and the hotel's close proximity to a main transport route. The use of parking management companies is becoming more and more frequent in private car parks such as hotels and supermarkets with even pubs and fast food restaurants now introducing them. The penalty notice you were issued with was issued by the parking company and not the hotel and contrary to what many may believe, the hotel does not receive the revenue from these charges incurred nor do we have any direct contact with the company or the authority to cancel charges once they have been issued. Unfortunately, I suspect the reason that you are still having to dispute the charge two month on is that initially you ignored the email sent to you as 'spam' and your car leasing company having paid the fine have in effect accepted liability for it on your behalf which means that we are regrettably unable to assist you further. I am also very sorry that you felt disappointed overall by the hotel and its facilities however, I have also noted that you would not have written a negative review were it not for the issue regarding the parking fine therefore I fully accept that this may have influenced your opinion and I apologise for our apparent failure to meet entirely with your expectations on this occasion. Kind regards Tim
