I stayed for 3 nights, would not recommend. I only gave 2 stars because of the beautiful scenery & proximity to work. Breakfast was AWFUL. first day I was given about 3 tablespoons of spongey tasteless microwaved scrambled eggs, about 2 tablespoons oily shrivelled mushrooms and 1 black pudding cooked within an inch of it's life where it had the...

We stayed over night as we had spa day booked. Lovely building with loads of character. The welcome from staff brilliant. Room was clean and functional. Food unfortunately was not upto standard lamb was not cooked to how I requested and the vegetables were under cooked, but a very helpful and understanding member of staff gladly offered me a refund....

We stayed for 4 nights. All of the staff without exception were excellent, friendly but not over the top, very human . We were unlucky the the boiler broke down so we didn't have a warm shower one morning. Breakfast is good value for money but the rooms could do with updating, which is challenging given the property is old...

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at the hotel. I am so sorry that during your stay we experienced an issue with our boiler. This has been rectified. Our hotel is indeed "old" and was formerly the house of William Worthington - of the brewery - a lot of the original features of the original...

The hotel is a beautiful old building, a big country house set in lovely grounds that's the good bit. The ladies on the reception desk were very friendly and helpful as were most of the other staff we encountered, though the young bearded fella serving breakfast on the last day of our stay could have done with being a bit...

Called in for lunch during the week, with the view of booking rooms for a wedding later in the year. Sufficient to say, i didn't inquire about rooms as the lunch service was extremely poor. I was so disappointed because from my internet search this hotel would have been ideal for a 2 night wedding guest stay. The location of...

Took a group of seven to Sunday lunch and from being met at reception by the very friendly and helpful lady member of staff. All the waiting on staff were friendly and nothing was too much for them to do. The choices for the three course meal were good and we all really enjoyed what we had to eat. Thank...

I stayed here for several days over the past week. The hotel is based in a old country house (with later extensions). You can see that in the past the hotel was quite grand. However, the decor, fixtures and fittings are now dated and in need of renovation (I would hazard a guess that the last major renovations occurred in...
