    This B & B is in the village and is very picturesque . The owners are very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was generous and tasty . Four stars may be down to personal taste, but did not like carpet in the en suite, also sliding...More

    As these guests say Alton really is very picturesque! Glad our hospitality and breakfast was enjoyed but sad that everything was not to these visitors liking. It would be great to see these visitors again.

    We called the malthouae at 4pm on Saturday and needed emergency accommodation because our other hotel had double booked us... The host was gracious and booked us her final room despite normally only booking a 2 night minimum. This bed and breakfast was brilliant. Host...More

    There is no bar in the B & B but there are a few pubs in the village only a few minutes walk away
