This is the first time we've taken our dog away with us. We were all made to feel very welcome from the beginning. All the staff clearly are passionate about running their hotel and they just great with our dog Sprocket. The food in the restuarant was excellent and good value too. Breakfast sets you up nicely for the day...

We are just back from two nights at this hotel and loved it. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and approachable whilst also being professional. We had our dogs with us so our courtyard room was ideally situated and had good facilities.. Breakfast was perfect with plenty of choice and the food in the restaurant was excellent - far exceeding our...

We stayed for a 2-night break at the beginning of March 2017. This hotel is very dog friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The dogs enjoyed their own sausage for breakfast! We were made to feel extremely welcome and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. The food at breakfast and dinner was also delicious.

I can only speak about the food and service as I live next door? But, since Mel and Paul have taken over, I have been impressed by their new ideas for this lovely, relaxing hotel? There is also a very pretty, French style courtyard dining area which is open to non-residents and their dogs! The food is delicious, as they...

We arranged to stay at the hotel for the weekend as we love Porlock and the area. The hotel managers were really friendly to the two of us and our dog a very lively spaniel. They only took the hotel over in 2016 and have decorated downstairs in the bar lounge and a hall way where you are able to...

I found this lovely place on a Google search for the area, differing reviews so I called the hotel direct. I spoke to a lovely ;lady called Mel who was one of the owners. I was checking about the dog friendly situation which I was told was fine. so I booked for one night. Mel kindly informed me that the...

Have stayed at the hotel twice now and both times have been amazing. The breakfast menu is excellent and of the highest standard and I cannot recommend the restaurant enough. The food is absolutely marvellous. My wife is in love with the garlic mushrooms and after mentioning it to the owners, was overwhelmed when she received a complementary dish to...

If you're looking for a very nice Hotel to stay in Exmoor, this could be the place you're looking for. The food is fabulous, and the service very good. I was impressed by their lack of children's menu, suggesting that children can eat what adults eat, and offer a smaller portion for such occasions.

We loved our stay at the Lorna Doone, which is being updated by its new owners. Charming hosts and staff; delicious food; lovely dining room; comfortable and well-laid- out room. Relaxed, warm, and welcoming atmosphere. A great base for local sightseeing, and its town centre location makes everything easy. We will visit again.
