We stayed for 2 nights as I was on a train driving experience on the W Somerset Railway (thoroughly recommend this for boys of all ages). Warm welcome from Mel who remembered why we were staying. The hotel has been elegantly restored - we stayed in one of the converted stables out in the courtyard with out own sitting out...

Five of us stayed for two nights as part of a walking tour of the coast path. The new owners are friendly and welcoming, the beds are comfortable and the breakfasts are great. They are renovating the hotel slowly and the bar is an excellent place to relax.

This weekend didn't Start well my party of 4 traveling on motorbikes were running late as I had to attend a friends funeral ☹️ We were booked into the Sea View B&B but because we were 1 1/2hs past their bed time of 8 o'clock Gill told us to find somewhere else to stay. OMG WHATS THE CHANCES OF FINDING...

We visited the Lorna Doone on the Saturday night, just for an evening drink. We were camping locally. They've done a lovely job refurbishing since taking over early this year. They were all very welcoming, even to our little Yorkshire terrier! It was so nice we came back the next day for breakfast. I had a full English breakfast and...

I had a great week with my family in delightful Pollock, staying in the Lorna Doone Hotel, and would highly recommend it as a place to stay or to eat. Mel and Paul, the owners, are very friendly and welcoming, and we spent many a fun evening with them, laughing and chatting and sharing our canine experiences and adventures. If...

We didn't stay but had a delicious meal with friends. Staff very friendly. Under new management and new chef. Excellent meal was had by us all. The steaks were cooked to each person's liking. The sea bass was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.

Although we didn't stay at the hotel, my wife and I had a meal here and it was absolutely delicious! The menu choice isn't massive but there is something for everyone on there and more importantly it is all freshly cooked. My wife has a gluten allergy, but this was not a problem as the chef made sure her meal...

The location of the hotel was really good. However the room we stayed in needed a good touch of decoration, the wallpaper broken, paint off, carpet worn out and patched. The smell of mould was prevalent and we could see the mould around the windows. I asked for a yogurt at breakfast and have been told that they don't have...

Thank you for your kind feedback, thankfully not a view shared by the vast majority of our guests. We state on our website that there is limited on site parking but good availability locally.

We stopped @ the Lorna Doone Hotel Restaurant on our journey to Woody Bay, Devon. The menu has many delicious options from which we chose their Local Steak Pie with Vegetables. This was swiftly delivered and provided substantial Devonshire sized portions that filled us both for the rest of the day! The prices are also reasonably competitive with total bill...

Loved Porlock and owners and staff member were very friendly. However, the rooms need a good coat of paint and a spruce up - especially at £95 per night (and that was for 3 nights not a one off). Owners haven't been in residence a full year yet admittedly, but come on get a paint brush out, a decent bathroom,...

Thanks for your kind feedback Jill, as you rightly point out we havent yet been here for a year and you will have seen alot of redecoration has been done in that time. We're sorry you're weren't happy about the room you were in and if you had mentioned this at the time we would have made every effort to...
