We stayed here overnight and the hotel was warm and comfortable but for us the stand-out was the food, an evening meal that was very good and the breakfast was even better; a wide range of food sourced locally, cooked to order and served piping hot. The hotel manager was very attentive and we felt very welcome. Please just be...

We were driving in North Wales and stopped for the night at the Minffordd Hotel. It is set up as a comfortable roadside hotel. It is clean and comfortable and provided us with a great stopping off place. The food is good and the room was fresh, clean and comfortable. We had a good nights rest.

Arrived a bit late, but no problem. Friendly reception from the owner, who showed me up to my room - a lovely little single en-suite with the en-suite bit cunningly tucked away in a corner! Just the job! I settled in and went back down to the bar and lounge. Draught beer is sensibly limited to a lager and a...

We stayed at Gwesty Minffordd for one night and really enjoyed our stay at this quirky hotel. Our room was compact but it was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable.. The bathroom was small but was well supplied with toiletries, shower cap, face cloth and nice thick towels. The food here is excellent. There is a good choice...

A great base at the foot of the mountain. Warm, clean and quiet room. Great food. You can get to the Minffordd path to ascend Cader Idris in just a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Shame about the weather.

We have just spent 2 nights here with friends and it is the perfect place to really relax and unwind. No television but a cosy and comfortable lounge to sit and chat with a lovely fire to keep you warm. The Hotel is spotlessly clean & the rooms offer more than average with extra bedding, fans/heaters & even hot water...

This is a real gem of a place. We stayed in November 2015, with the weather being appalling but it just added to the charm of the place, ( I'm sure it's stunning in the summer too). Gordon the owner is a real character, more than happy to come and chat with you when it's quiet and tell you some...

Never did find out the owners name, but he works hard to make sure you have everything you need, even setting up the Wi-Fi on your phone for you. Food was great, steak was first class and dessert was excellent. But the best part is his excellent selection of bottled ale 😊

The Minffordd Hotel in Talyllyn valley, Mid Wales is set in probably the most breathtaking scenery in Britain and is literally situated at the base of the Cader Idris with the summit being 1 1/2 miles NW of the hotel, the start of the Minffordd path is 5 mins away. The original parts of the building are over 400 years old so as you Would expect the walls are very thick and there are plenty of originally features such as the original wood beams which can be seen throughout the building and our log fire which is a key feature during the winter months. ... more   less
