We are a Georgian Country House Hotel set in mature parkland yet within easy access of a major road.We have 11 bedrooms in the hotel as well as a cottage that sleeps four in close proximity. Each room is individual with all the quirky details you often find with a family owned and run property.A log fire welcomes you in the winter months and this is equalled by our fantastic terrace and gardens in the summer. We are open to non residents and have a great local reputation and following for our food.Whether a special occasion or a mid week bite to eat we can offer what you need.We have been at the Sweeeney Hall as a family for 20 years now and love what we have to offer with its history and warm atmoshere and unique character.

Delicious food and good service. They catered for a fussy 4 yr old who just wanted sausage and chips. Always a pleasure to visit The Sweeney. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Easy parking outside.

I cannot thank the team enough for such an amazing dining experience. They really have gone the extra mile to ensure the safety and quality of service for guests. We had one of the outside pods meaning that we had lots of space in a lovely warm environment to enjoy amazing food. The pods were fully heated, with blankets if you needed them. The service was excellent and the food was just perfect with a great variety to suit all tastes. The espresso martinis were just yum! Thank you for all the effort you have made to ensure your guests enjoy an incredible dining experience. You guys deserve to succeed given the crazy times as I write this review, you really are a model of a company who has gone above and beyond.

Thank you so very much for this lovely review. It has been a surreal year for all but, when at the Sweeney, we read a review like this it makes all the difference and really lifts our spirits. So pleased you enjoyed the pods and hopefully, once things are back to some semblance of normal you will be able to come back and enjoy them in the summer too. Thank you again and Happy New Year to you x

We were staying in the area for a week and found this gem of a place towards the end of the week. I so wish we had found it sooner, especially after a few disappointing dining experiences in the area. We booked for an evening meal and from booking to leaving was just amazing! The waiters were absolutely brilliant, so attentive and just so lovely. We were made to feel so welcome and relaxed from the minute we were greeted at the door. I had chicken in white wine sauce and hubby had steak. The food was fantastic! The baileys and white chocolate roulade was to die for!! What a beautiful, amazing place!

thank you so very much for this glowing review. It was lovely to read that you enjoyed every aspect of your stay and I will make sure to let the chef and the staff know. Kind reviews are always appreciated but at the moment in these strange times for hospitality they mean just that little bit more so thank you again and we hope to welcome you back to the Sweeney in the future.
