Very good sunday lunch with a good choice. Really nice to see free-range chicken served. You certainly don't leave hungry with substantial and tasty starters. Decent real ale and an open fire in reception!

Let's get the negatives out of the way first, they played Michael buble over dinner, and that was it. Now the positives, the location and views surrounding the hotel are beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful we were made to feel welcome from the very first minute we stepped into the reception. The room was huge, spotless and...

We recently discovered this hotel having previously stayed in a much larger spa type hotel a short distance away. The difference was stark, in a positive way. The hotel was charming and all you would hope for in a small boutique style hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed chatting to Christian and Freddie about all the...

It's always hard to remain unbiased when writing about a hotel and restaurant which has been so close to my heart and my family's for many years. However, believe me when I say this slightly out of the way gem is always a treat. The front of house manager Kristian is very friendly, helpful and charismatic and very accommodating, always...

The stunning location is a joy to the eyes. The architecture is also impressive. After a 9 hour drive (are we there yet?) it was lovely to be welcomed by a real fire in the main hall and a friendly face in reception. The east wing is a suite of 2 double bedrooms, bathroom, separate wc, & a hallway, ideal...

We used the Sweeney Hall Hotel for our wedding on the 27th October. Family and friends also stayed in a number of rooms at the hotel before and after the event. Prior to booking it, we ate there on two occasions to confirm how suitable our choice of venue was. The hotel sits in extensive grounds and has real character....

I stayed one night on a deal (B&B < £60). The room was beautiful, clean, comfortable. There were nice teas/coffees and nice toiletries. I was just thinking what a good deal I had got and planning to bring my wife next time... All fall down! When it was light I could see the outside of the window had not been...

Dear Mr Johns, Thank you for taking the trouble to leave your feedback. We are delighted you found"the room beautiful ,clean and comfortable with nice teas and nice toiletries" for the £55.25 bed and breakfast you paid. The exterior of the window that you mention is cleaned by a window cleaner every 4 weeks and those inconsiderate spiders can spin their...

What a pleasure to pull up to, the driveway leading up to the house is a delight. Plenty of parking surrounding the house and grounds. We stayed just one night on our way to North Wales, so it made a lovely stop over point. We had room 6 which looked out to the side of the house and had a...

I just stayed at the Sweeney Hall hotel and enjoyed it. It's a beautiful old Georgian style mansion house and has a wonderful atmosphere. Staff seemed a little stretched. We'd mentioned on booking that we would arrive late and wanted to eat. After watching various waiting staff busily attending to diners (and ignoring us weary travellers exhausted after several punishing...
