We stayed here for 2 nights with a dinner, bed and breakfast package. The hotel is very cosy, with open log fires and relaxed lounge atmosphere. The staff are laid back and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. There is a lot of information available regarding the local area, wildlife and local walks. The restaurant is very good, intimate...

A wonderful weekend break with friends, rooms very comfortable and clean, however on arrival the heating in our room was full blast and didn't need to be, it was a bit stifling. Great staff and service in the hotel & restaurant, but dinner too rushed on our second night. Not sure why as the first night was perfectly paced. Food...

Pleasant little hotel, could not fault the food and the room with jacuzzi bath was excellent but it seemed to lack atmosphere and the dining room was way, way too cramped. Other nit picking niggles, the fresh fruit at breakfast was not well prepared and no-one asked if I wanted sauce with cooked breakfast (I actually like Worcester Sauce which...

"Typical" means the rooms are small and, more recently, the wireless internet is dubious and there is no mobile phone signal. A classic and welcoming country hotel. Very pleasant staff, good food and comfortably appointed. Rooms a little small if you are travelling with a couple of cases and decor looking slightly faded although in this kind of place you can get away with it. Lovely dining room but bar a bit cramped.

We stayed here in early September for four nights. It's in a lovely setting right on the English/Welsh border. There are great hikes right from the hotel and there are lots of places to visit nearby. We visited Chirk Castle and Erddig, both lovely and interesting. The hotel is charming and comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. What...

This was our third visit over a few years, but this time we felt a little let down. Our room was very small and my wife had trouble climbing the many stairs. The food was almost up to previous standards and the service was very good and the staff very helpful.

Stayed here as a group of friends for a catch up before going horse riding the next day. Set in beautiful countryside this inn is a true hidden gem and absolutely delightful. The warm and friendly staff can't do enough for you. It is quirky old house with oodles of charm. We were greeted with fresh scones and tea on...

What a little gem. Fantastic hotel, can't sing it's praises high enough. 4 friends meeting up for a long awaited catch up. Perfect place. Lovely warm and inviting, roaring log fire, friendly welcoming staff, clean, warm, pretty room. Amazing dinner. Sounds like I'm gushing but really can't be positive enough. Have already booked again for next year. Fingers crossed the...

The booking process was made very easy by the helpful staff. We stayed for one night on a bed breakfast and dinner package. We were welcomed with afternoon tea and scones which were freshly baked and delicious. Our dinner was superb, with chefs appetiser and amouse bouche in addition to the a la carte choices. Bed was really comfy and...
