I was arranging a special meal in memory of a close friend who died recently. A group of his friends and his widow were planning to have a meal at the Raven on his birthday because it was his favourite restaurant. I rang to make the booking and, after a very long wait for an answer, I spoke to, who...

The Raven Hotel with a history going back nearly 200 years has been beautifully re model to offer all modern conveniences whilst maintaining old world charm. The management and staff are polite, caring and accessible. The restaurant is probably the best in WENLOCK with an attractive bar/lounge. The hotel is in the center of the town and very close the...

Amazing a la carte menu.! Sadly, Unable to try tasting menu. A bit tired in certain areas . Clean but needs attention. Friendly staff. Great location. Breakfast could be better in variety. Cooked breakfast very good.

We stayed in the Coach House. What a fabulous find..it has a mezzanine floor with a very comfortable bed, fresh linen and beautifully done. This room has a woodburner which is set ready to light. As it was the mini heatwave in July we declined, plus we have one at home..still a nice touch. Luxurious bathroom on ground floor plus...

This was an anniversary weekend,. Upon arrival we were shown to our room ( four poster bed -room2) with plenty of space . A little noisy in the morning as it faced the front. Food first evening in the bar was excellent and 2nd evening the 5 course taster menu with wine was outstanding. Wines from Tanners were good -...

We don't know what Raven Hotel some critics stayed in because The Raven where we recently spent three nights was very pleasant, clean and staffed with knowledgeable, competent and pleasant people. We enjoyed very much our meals, including the Tasting Menu.

We booked for 4 nights and were allocated a room in the main building. On arrival we were shown to another room in the courtyard which was damp and with very tired decor. we asked to see our original booking. That too was dated and had a broken shower. Third time lucky. We were given a recently refurbished room with...

I managed to get a last minute twin room here, after searching all over the area. there was an event on in Telford, so my usual haunts were all full. As I drove through the lovely village of Much Wenlock and into the ample car park, I knew this was a good choice. The hotel has two buildings, the main...

"Tis better to travel than to arrive" just about sums up The Raven. Booked late online for an overnight stop on our way home from the Lake District. Despite being resident, unable to book for evening meal as we were told that the restaurant was full. We were allocated Room 12 and were somewhat surprised to see how grubby everything...

Cosy hotel with fantastic food - taster menu especially delightful. A' la carte has plenty of choice and satisfying portions. Wine list not over-priced and refreshing selection. Staff attentive and cheerful. Room looked recently refurbished and was comfortable and spacious. Excellent choice of channels on TV. Good value on our deal. Needs a little more attention to detail and cleaning...
