A comfortable night's sleep in modernised rooms in an old hotel with character. Much Wenlock is a quaint old market town with lovely buildings. Friendly staff and good bar and restaurant. very good food. Breakfast was really good and serven in a very pleasant room. A couple of maintenance issues were mentioned to the staff about the shower and heating,... More

My husband stumbled across this place on a boys walking weekend and brought me for a foody visit. As some have commented, our room was a little tired and shabby, but I think if it had been done up like a boutique hotel it would be a totally different ambience and price, so we had no quibbles with our room... Stayed with a great value 2 night travelzoo offer. Don't expect an immaculately presented hotel - its old, a bit tired in places and quirky but liked it all the more for it. Lovely village, excellent 7 course taster menu and very enjoyable stay. Thanks to the hotel for returning a shirt left in the wardrobe. Highly recommended.

We booked an offer through Travelzoo and had an upgrade to our room. The room was in the Old Forge which was separate from the main hotel. Very large room and bathroom like a little self contained flat. Good evening meal in the restaurant and super breakfast. Very welcoming staff who made us feel at home The village/town of Much... This was our second visit and we were pleased that we chose to return. Yes, the carpets are showing signs of wear but we love the atmosphere of this old hotel. We returned especially to sample the chef's resaurant menu and we were not disappointed - it was first class. However, be warned, the number of covers is limited and... More

I was arranging a special meal in memory of a close friend who died recently. A group of his friends and his widow were planning to have a meal at the Raven on his birthday because it was his favourite restaurant. I rang to make the booking and, after a very long wait for an answer, I spoke to, who... More

The Raven Hotel with a history going back nearly 200 years has been beautifully re model to offer all modern conveniences whilst maintaining old world charm. The management and staff are polite, caring and accessible. The restaurant is probably the best in WENLOCK with an attractive bar/lounge. The hotel is in the center of the town and very close the... Amazing a la carte menu.! Sadly, Unable to try tasting menu. A bit tired in certain areas . Clean but needs attention. Friendly staff. Great location. Breakfast could be better in variety. Cooked breakfast very good.

We stayed in the Coach House. What a fabulous find..it has a mezzanine floor with a very comfortable bed, fresh linen and beautifully done. This room has a woodburner which is set ready to light. As it was the mini heatwave in July we declined, plus we have one at home..still a nice touch. Luxurious bathroom on ground floor plus... More
