The pub is run by an Iranian guy who could not have done more to make our group of bloke more welcome. We stayed in a nearby house and he arranged taxis to get us there and home. The food was good and the real ales were fresh.

Stopped for lunch, As a person not keen on meat, I found the menu limited to Roast dinners or spaghetti and it was also over priced. Had two starters, two sweets without drinks came to £27. Veg soup was full of garlic, pureed with no actual veg to be seen. prawn cocktail was adequate, gooseberry Apple and ginger crumble was...

I stayed for one night in August 2015 with a friend in a twin room. The room was a good size for two people and the shower was both hot and powerful, so very good. I also had a breakfast, lunch and dinner meal in the restaurant and all were very good. Particularly the lunch and dinner food. I highly...

My husband and I stayed for one night.15th August 2015. We found the people in who checked us in ( sorry haven't got names presume they were the proprietors ) were very nice smiling people. Stayed overnight on 1st August. Was advised over phone that only 1 double room was available but that it would be small. It was but very clean and only £50. They had a special tapas evening which we had for our evening meal, was very nice but I thought it a bit pricey for amount of food. The cooked breakfast...

We found this place purely by chance having visited Stokesay Castle, just down the road. We were hoping for basic pub food but this was a cut above that. The quality of the food was excellent, as was the presentation. I had a wonderful salmon fillet with rice and the most beautifully presented and interesting salad. My husband's burger and...

We live in the area and have been meaning to try Stokesay Inn for sometime. We were not in anyway disappointed. The staff were absolutely lovely, the food was flawless - the burger was literally the best we had eaten. We had a three course meal which was presented beautifully; having food served in a slightly different way as anticipated...

Stayed as a family early July whilst attending a wedding. I had room 1, a single, which was perfectly clean & comfortable - although the temperature dial on the shower was jammed on boiling hot so I had to use the shower in my brother's room! The amenities are perfectly adequate - I didn't eat there but the bar is...

I had an over night stay here not long ago. The free wifi ran quite well. The mattress on my bed was quite thin which made it very hard. I thought my room was basic but it was clean apart from old papers left under the bed. What did let the place down was old stains on the bed pillows!...

10 of us had an excellent meal here to celebrate a weeks hard walking in Shropshire. The food was first class and very well presented, service was quick and efficient. We would recommend this inn to anyone. We didn't stay here but would if we come this way again.
