I was working away and my company booked me into this hotel with a couple of colleagues. Price is always a consideration when booking hotels for work and this was the most reasonable in the area. I arrived around 5:30 pm and my reservation and keys were ready and waiting for me and I was shown to a room in...

Was working in the local area and needed a place to crash and have a few drinks to wind down. Ended up in this (don't forget to read the small print) "retreat". Pay a little extra and get a proper hotel or guest house with proper facilities... Rooms were very basic, no TV, uncomfortable beds and the breakfast wasn't worth...

Good Morning, Thank you for taking your time to provide feedback of your stay. I apologise that Charney Manor Quaker Retreat and Conference Center did not fulfill your expectations. We are a Conference and a Retreat Center, not a hotel but that is stated on all our advertising and listings. I am just sorry that you were unable to read...

If you want peace and quiet and good food this is the place. Do not expect TVs because there are non but there is wifi. Village with a pub 5 minutes walk away. The Manor was built in the 1200s so plenty of history. Manor surrounded by the country side.

Low cost appealed but venue does not live up to expectations in terms of facilities. No TV in bedrooms, no evening meals or bar, in short this is not a hotel and whilst all this is explained in the small print, it should be highlighted to avoid disappointment. My room was basic and small with a tiny shower cubicle, all...

I stayed at the Manor for about 8 weeks in total over a period of a 3 month contract I was undertaking in a nearby town. The location is next to the tiny village of Charney Bassett, hidden away in the Oxfordshire countryside. Charney Manor is the property of the Quakers, and is operated as a conference venue / B&B....

From my second visit to Charney Manor I would like to add there has been a change of chef, the food is excellent (provided vegetarian and vegan) and the staff are very helpful with any needs. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Had time to visit grounds which are beautiful and well kept.

Burned out, depressed and feeling dismal I found this place and booked immediately, left half an hour later and arrived to check in at 14.00. I was instantly enveloped by the warmth, peace and beauty of the manor and the grounds. Yes,it's old and my room (19) was dark, basic and had a squeaky bed and floorboards but at £55 a...

The outside looks lovely and the grounds are very well presented. However our bathroom was awash with ants and was very basic. The wifi didn't work neither did the TV in the television room! Breakfast in the morning offered a range of toast and fruit, however the yogurt was mouldy, clearly they bring the same ones out each day.

The surroundings were tranquil, with lovely gardens to the Manor, and the reception staff were both pleasant and welcoming. However, the "private bathroom" to our double room consisted of a sink under the window, a mirror with shaving point in a dark corner and a shower cubicle and toilet in a partitioned area in a corner of the room. There...
