I was attending a course locally and needed an overnight stay. This place was recommended by the course organisers and they were right. From the very beginning I was warmly welcomed and felt I was staying with friends rather than business premises. The house is beautifully decorated, modern with original features intact. The room was well presented, great bed, warm,...

We stayed in Room 8 which is on 2nd floor - the room was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was really nice and they accommodated our various dietary requirements (dairy free and gluten free options are available). Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

Room, location, amenities I had a double room on the ground floor. Very clean and tidy. Great design. Ensuite. TV. Free fast Wifi. Very close to Wantage town centre. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. I need to iron the creases out of suit and that was not a problem. Very nice owner as well.

we booked the family room which was beautifully decorated and had a great ensuite. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) and the beds were super comfy. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and filled us up for the day! Highly recommended

Good location - easy walk to (quiet) town centre. Clean, quiet, comfortable with an excellent breakfast. What more does anybody need? I will certainly be staying at Alfred's Lodge again when business takes me to the Wantage area

We spent one night here to attend a wedding reception at Lains (?) Barn. Located something like 5 to 10 mins walk away from the middle of the charming little market town of Wantage the B and B is in a traditional red bricked detached house. Rooms are cosy - very nice decor throughout (They are in the middle of...

We were attending a wedding at Lanes Barn, Wantage and chose to stay at Alfred’s Lodge also in Wantage, just 2- 3 miles away. We arrived on the Thursday before the wedding on the Saturday, to be met by the owner Jane, a lovely person who couldn’t have made us more welcome and done anything more for us. It is...

Very well presented, maintained and clean. Nothing seems to be to much trouble. A good location just off the town centre which is 5 mins. walk away. I have used other B&Bs in Wantage area and would rate this one very highly despite one or two negative reviews. I suppose some just don't feel they have enjoyed their day unless...

I booked a stay for 4 days in Wantage for my brother and I as we had to burry our mothers ashes with our Grandparents in West Hanney. This was her last wishes. When we arrived early just to get our bearings for the room and then the church etc. the attendant Kim greeted us at the door and was...
