I have stayed here before whilst visiting friends in Mansfield. I could have kipped on their sofa, but decided to stay at this beautiful hotel again after having a wonderful time last time I was there. It is fabulously located and the park is a real bonus. I don't get to travel much and always worry about staying in soulless...

So many positives, beautiful old hotel in lovely grounds, the staff so naturally welcoming and friendly, 10/10 for the young lady who checked us in and out and the young lad who was on duty both nights who served us at breakfast, they are a credit to the hotel. We were given room 10, a beautiful room with a large...

As a previous guest stated, the structure and decor requires work but the basics are there. The location is superb. Set within a splendid park and within easy walking distance of the town centre it is an imposing building. Plenty of parking. The rooms are a good size and ours had a huge and comfortable bed. TV and tea/coffee/biscuits included....

Thank you for your review; it is always good to receive guests' feedback. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay and that you appreciate that a building of this age is bound to have the odd blemish here and there. During the quieter winter months, we look at all of our rooms and undertake maintenance where necessary. We...

I stayed one night in this hotel in November. I found it overpriced and not particularly good. It compares very unfavourably with Travel Lodge Hotels. The building was an original Victorian Manor House with a beautiful central staircase and a view out over the local public park with double-fronted bay windows. The rooms were very tired-looking and desperately need re-decorating....

Dear Paul. Thank you for your review. There is just a few points that I would like to go through with you though. Firstly, thank you for your comments with regards to the hotel. The Manor is a 1804 original Georgian Hall, with a history dating back to the Cavendish family (The Devonshire Seat), Being the home of the Earl...

First stay here, and Ive stayed in a lot of hotels for business and leisure... Mansfield is surprisingly short of hotels. The location provides great views of a park, but not sure what goes on in the park at night..... the staff are charming the decor is renovated period, and lighting a little stark. Pictures would not go a miss....

Hi Jonathan. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us here at the Manor and I will pass on your compliments to our staff. We are particularly fond of the views and our local authority does an excellent job of maintaining its parks and green spaces though out the district. During the quieter, winter months, we run a...

Attended a wedding here recently. It's true that the interior of the building could do with a little TLC but it's not too bad. (Council owned maybe?) And I only saw downstairs. The main thing I want to tell is how impressed I was with the staff. The wedding and then the meal afterwards went very smoothly. The staff were...

Waited 10 minutes to be checked in. Waited 10 minutes to be let in when returning at nighttime (apparently there's a back door we should have been told about at check in...?!). Previous guest's clothes, razor and used toiletries in bathroom. Appreciate the maintenance issues associated with a building of this age but that's not an excuse for grubby, chipped...

Room in need of face lift. Bathroom a little grubby. Bed was comfortable but furnishings basic. Front bedroom picked up noises from reception and terrace as windows not double glazed.
