13 of us stayed just the one night for a change of scenery from home. We were supposed to have the garden house but there was a "mix up" in the booking. So instead we were given a family room and use of the lounge. On check in we discussed the mix up with the male receptionist, we were given...

This Hotel is extremely dated and over priced, and in need of a refurb the food is average. We had the family room which was a good size but old and tired, the bar and restaurant is a real mismatch of styles.

Room was very clean, but not much attention to detail - fusty smell, bin broken, no tooth mugs. Food was well below pub average - we'd maybe stay here again, they have a lovely garden - but we'd definitely eat elsewhere.

We were on way home from holiday and stopped here for some lunch we all had toasties and they were beautiful. Would recommend this for a spot of lunch. 1 room was set up for a wedding and looked stunning. Very happy family on way home to Scotland after our holiday down south

While we felt this was quite a reasonable pub to spend a night in we felt at one hundred pounds a night was probably 20 to 30 pounds overpriced in comparison to other pubs we stayed at this trip. The room was clean & tidy but very dated and tired looking. We did eat in the pub that night and...

We stayed a night while walking St Cuthbert's Way. We had a warm welcome and checked into a big room with a hot radiator and a big bath. The bubble bath was oddly putrid, memorably so in fact. Everything else was great however. The bar was friendly and had a roaring fire. The pub is convenient for the Way and...

We stayed at the Tankerville for 5 nights, Property is spacious and rooms good space. Very clean in all areas Food is filling and tasty with good daily choice on menu. Service in morning is a bit sloppy, it takes ages to get toast, and get yourself coffee. Breakfast is a good standard Dinner service better and food very good....

Had a slight hiccup with regards to the rooms on check in but was offered an alternative and went with it. Room itself was typically 'traditional' and I'm not quite sure who inspired the idea to have the TV on top of the wardrobe but it was ill advised - quite possibly the most uncomfortable way to watch television. My...
