On the St Cuthbert's way and stayed one night in the Inn. Clean but very over priced, we were put into a family room nice beds but could do with a good up grade for the price they are asking. Evening meal was very bad , i had salad with goat cheese for starter, main meal was pasta with tomato... More

While we felt this was quite a reasonable pub to spend a night in we felt at one hundred pounds a night was probably 20 to 30 pounds overpriced in comparison to other pubs we stayed at this trip. The room was clean & tidy but very dated and tired looking. We did eat in the pub that night and... More

We stayed a night while walking St Cuthbert's Way. We had a warm welcome and checked into a big room with a hot radiator and a big bath. The bubble bath was oddly putrid, memorably so in fact. Everything else was great however. The bar was friendly and had a roaring fire. The pub is convenient for the Way and... More

We stayed at the Tankerville for 5 nights, Property is spacious and rooms good space. Very clean in all areas Food is filling and tasty with good daily choice on menu. Service in morning is a bit sloppy, it takes ages to get toast, and get yourself coffee. Breakfast is a good standard Dinner service better and food very good.... More

Had a slight hiccup with regards to the rooms on check in but was offered an alternative and went with it. Room itself was typically 'traditional' and I'm not quite sure who inspired the idea to have the TV on top of the wardrobe but it was ill advised - quite possibly the most uncomfortable way to watch television. My... More

Part of a large group staying for 5 nights. Lovely hotel and bar, great food. We were well looked after by fantastic staff. Seemed to be a popular place to eat for the locals of this part of Northumberland. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in this area you couldn't do better than to choose the Tankerville.

Room was comfortable and the service was good. Breakfast was good and the packed lunches adequate. The evening meals were variable, especially the main course. Good base to explore Northumberland. Good walks on the the Cheviot Hills starting from the Hotel so no need to use the car. Near to Holy Island and Seahouses for the Farne Islands. Anwick and... More
