Just had a wonderful dinner from the Coach House at home menu .Fabulous restaurant standard food with easy to follow heating instructions. Cannot wait for them to reopen when this lockdown ends . 3 courses for £20 including all the little garnishes that makes it so special

Booked an overnight DBB deal for Saturday 24th October which included a 5 course taster menu for Dinner. Check-in was very friendly and the hotel was Covid safe Rooms were basic but very clean (check as some rooms only have a shower) Bar area was very cosy and we enjoyed a few pre dinner cocktails which were very reasonably priced. The 5 course dinner was outstanding Started with Ham Hock and home made pickle ..... very nice Fish course was smoked salmon .... again very nice Soup was smoked pumpkin and chorizo which was served in an expresso cup .... it was outstanding Main course was an individual lamb cottage pie ........ one of the best dishes I have ever had with bag fulls of flavour Dessert was home made choc brownie with walnut ice cream ........ wow delicious We paid extra for a cheese course which included nettle cheese...... disappointed there was no port ........ more red wine in its place There was a good choice for breakfast ranging from full English to American pancakes with bacon Price was exceptional taking into account the food Service was very good and very friendly Thoroughly recommend a stay (unfortunately may be after lock down now)

This place is lovely save the very poor manager with zero people skills. We ordered 4 meals 3 of which were lovely, unfortunatly the 4th not so, burger advertised as Northumberland Steak with hand cut chips, all the meals chips were frozen which was not great but acceptable. The burger was also clearly a frozen burger, over cooked, dry and clearly not Northumberland beef, we raised this point and nothing was done save a response of we are sorry. We recieved the bill and informed the staff again of our displeasure, the staff reported this back and we were informed that we had to pay half even though it wasn't eaten. We challenged and were asked to step into reception to discuss, this in itself was degrading however it got worse, the manager tried in vain to say that the chips were hand cut and also the burger was fresh Northumberland meat. He offered up a sight of the receipt and we accepted only to be shown a frozen Aberdeen Angus burger, totally embarrassing for all. The majority of staff and food was what you would expect however the manager was probably the worst we have ever experienced. The rest of the staff were fantastic so I guess this was maybe just an unlucky experience and a good example of how one individual can change your overall experience.

A big thank you to all the staff at The Coach House for making our short stay very enjoyable. We appreciated their friendly welcome with contactless check in, table service worked well and all of our food was of great quality and tasted amazing. If anything our room was a little tired. It was very clean and the bed comfortable and we enjoyed the hospitality tea tray too. Considering the challenges hospitality businesses are experiencing these people did a amazing job. We hope to revisit, this time for a longer stay. Northumberland-what a great part of the Country!

Just returned from 2days at the Coach House Otterburn, cannot praise the place high enough, superb staff lovely comfy room, stunning scenery, and the food was out of this world, don't know how its only 3 star, I can honestly say, in these pressing times i cannot find one fault with this venue, and would more than happy to return someday, when a quiet break was required.
