Myself and my daughter stayed here for unfortunately only one evening. Our welcome was exceptional and the lady that checked us in was very polite and helpful. As our train back to Newcastle in the morning was before breakfast she very kindly offered a flask of milk cereal and a lovely display of fruit in our room. Our room was...

The room was clean and bright and had everything you needed with thoughtful additions of a fruit bowl and bottles of water. Centrally based it is ideal for all the amenities and access to the wall is a minute's walk away. It felt a really friendly place. The breakfast was home cooked and tasted lovely.

Great little restaurant in small, historic hotel in the heart of the historic old town. We were staying in Berwick for a couple of nights and booked for a Friday evening meal. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. My husband's favourite was the garlic mushroom bruschetta starter - yum!

We have just spent four nights at this lovely small hotel and were pretty impressed. The room, overlooking the quiet road, was quite spacious and the beds were among the most comfortable we’ve experienced even in much larger corporate hotels. Clean and well furnished with a new-looking en-suite shower bathroom, the owners provided a supply of fruit, bottled water and...

Stopped in here on a whim on way to Newcastle as we'd never been before. Bit if a ghost town even on the weekend but it was too late to head elsewhere. Character filled property with various levels so beware if your eyesight is a bit poor. We had room 2 that was £95 a night and although I thought...

What a find! Super food - some 'pub classics' such as locally sourced steak & lasagne on the menu & some very enticing special dishes... I had sea bass in a fabulously fragrant herb & citrusy butter & my husband spoilt for choice between several mains including local venison, chose a cod, octopus & prawn risotto. Ambience & decor lovely,...

What a lovely experience we had at this restaurant in December, eight of us met up for a bit of a reunion and from start to finish the service was lovely. Water and bread on the table without asking, beautiful food, no complaints from any of our party. The staff were very helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough fir us...

Spent two nights over Christmas with family. Have stayed in a number of small hotels and B&Bs in Northumberland, and the Queens Head is definitely our favourite. Comfortable room with really nice bedding and modern bathroom, good attention to detail and thoughtfulness from the staff. Excellent fresh breakfast with a range of choices. Good location in Berwick. Would definitely recommend!

I've had the pleasure of staying in some good and not so good hotels over the years, mostly for work. For the family-run places, it never ceases to amaze the effort that must go into making it a success - so many people, so many different tastes, day in day out. Never done a review before, but I thoroughly enjoyed...
