Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Claire and Simon for our recent stay for a week at the end of Sept 2020 at their B&B, we felt totally at ease with all of the covid safe measures that they have put in place for their guests. The staggered breakfast times meant that we had the dining room to ourselves, again felt very safe. They make you feel very welcome, they are very friendly, helpful and make you feel totally at ease with everything and nothing is too much trouble. The food they served was to the same high standards as in previous visits, extremely tasty and well presented including the fresh herbs and edible flowers grown in their own garden. Claire’s homemade ginger cake, muesli, granola and jams are so tasty and gorgeous. They have provided a covered area in their garden where you can sit and enjoy take away food and a drink in the sunshine, any time of day and in very quiet surroundings too. They recommended a few pubs and restaurants that were open and we managed to book tables with no problems for evening meals and each of the venues were also covid safe and following covid guidance i.e. Milan Italian Restaurant in Wooler, The Apple Inn in Lucker and Sunnyhills Farm shop in Belford. I would definitely recommend staying at the B&B if you want some quiet time and lovely walks, especially on the beaches, only 10 minutes away in the car. I look forward to staying at the B&B again in the near future and seeing Claire and Simon again.…
We’re frequent visitors at the B&B and receive 5* treatment every time! The rooms are beautiful and the breakfasts are fabulous!! The owners went out of their way to ensure everyone was safe due to covid. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
Had a 2 night stay as I was originally scheduled to complete the MacMillan Mighty Hike and had chosen to stay here but as the hike was cancelled, decided not to cancel and have a couple of nights away. I'm pleased I did as we had a warm welcome and were given a lot of information relating to the current (sept 2020) covid restrictions. Room was a very good size with comfy bed, big bathroom and everything else we might have required. Will definitely book here again.
We had a 7 night stay and were extremely well looked after in the current difficult times (Covid-19), by Claire and Simon. We were made welcome from the moment we pulled into the car park. The room we had was comfortable and had everything we desired. The food was excellent at breakfast but watch out for the size of portions for the Northumberland Breakfast. It is BIG. After day one we requested small portion breakfasts and that was quite adequate. The house is situated in easy reach of many sights and attractions inland and along the beautiful coastline. There are many books and maps available from Claire and Simon to help your choice. Booking well in advance is advisable as there are many returning guests. This is an amazing little gem.
Our second visit was a good as the first. Very good location near hills and sea. Friendly hosts. Comfortable beds. Great breakfast. And very detailed attention to Covid-secure hygiene, which made us feel confident and secure
