I booked at fairly short notice for a holiday in Northumberland. We had no clue what to expect, but took our bikes and walking boots as part of our break. We couldn't have made a better choice. Serendipity! We were in Hobbit 2, one of what was more or less a self-contained cottage, and one where we could leave our...

Bank holiday weekend, two night stay in one of the "Hobbit" rooms - good size, nice bathroom and very comfortable. All the staff were welcoming and helpful and the food was incredible. A little pricey, but definitely worth it for a short break

We recently returned from a 2 night stay in this delightful small hotel, staying in the Duchess room with a view of the beautiful gardens and having its own balcony. The hotel has an old world charm with an interesting history. The dining room is very traditional and our breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. All the staff we came...

We made last-minute bookings and changes to our reservation and the staff handled it all beautifully. They emailed to ask if we wanted to book dinner because the restaurant was filling up. The room was large and comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was delicious - fabulous local jams and honey. It's not easy to walk anywhere from the hotel as it's...

We went to the Restaurant at this hotel on the basis of a recommendation. We were not disappointed and found that the choice of menu and quality and range of choices on offer excellent. On arriving at the Restaurant we were shown into a drawing room where we enjoyed Canapés and pre-meal drinks. Our meal was supplemented by a delightful...

We have just come back from a 4 night break at Waren House. What a find! Our room was nice but the real bonus was having a sitting room as well-we were in a courtyard room-it made us feel so at home. The breakfasts and dinner were among the best I have had and all the staff were so friendly...

This is a wonderful hotel with wonderful food and staff. Our room was apart from the main building (through our choice) as we wanted ground floor accommodation. It was set in beautiful gardens with a table and chairs on the patio just outside which would have been wonderful to use had it not rained constantly! However the birds seemed to...

Live in museum No air. No fan. Window no open. The room was not the only thing that was stuffy. Supper Saterday was 845 to start Over booked or understaffed Food was to rich for my taste.. Walk a mile down the road (no walks or path) to great waterfront. Exterior under construction.

This was our third stay at Waren House, this time to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. As before our stay was fantastic. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The room was great, very roomy with all the usual facilities. My only, very small, niggle, was that the bath had a hand shower instead of the overhead variety, which...

Stayed for a couple of nights and enjoyed our visit. The room was a good size and so was the bathroom. Other reviewers have complained about the shower and although I would prefer a separate shower this one over the bath was fine, easy to use and a good force of water. Only thing I found slightly odd was there...
