As if the North East hasn't enough wonderful surprises, here is another; a 17th century farm, long-since converted to provide hotel accommodation, set around a delightful paved courtyard. My companions and I were travelling back to London from Edinburgh, leaving Edinburgh quite late in the evening. Having phoned ahead to warn the proprietors that we were likely to arrive after...

This B&B is very different & wouldn't suit anyone who wants the standard type of accommodation offered in chain hotels. The rooms are all individual & differ in size & locality & what they offer - so do your research. Evelyn & Peter are so friendly & helpful & will do what they can to meet your needs. They can...

Love this, if you like fantastic hospitality, quirky, fun, comfortable and great breakfast you can't beat this B&B. This is my fifth visit to Alnwick Lodge and it's because every time I try to find somewhere different to stay in the area, I can't see anywhere that I would prefer to be and the price is very good too. Evelyn...

A big thank you to Evelyn and her team for giving my son and new daughter in law a wedding venue to remember. Quirky is the most appropriate word to describe Alnwick Lodge. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. As a wedding party we took over Alnwick Lodge which...

You will get a very friendly and warm welcome here. I was greeted by a roaring fire which was also lit in the morning. The rooms are very individual and prettily done and situated around a courtyard. Despite being rght next to the A 1 there was no road noise. Breakfast is ample andin the converted stables. Very good if...

The accommodation was lovely and clean and warm. The host were amazing and the overall feel of the place was nice. Breakfast was good. The only negative point was the position - the hotel is found right off the A1 so you really need a car to get there and you can't walk into town - apart from that it...

Having read other reviews not a lot to add. this is a Elizabethan style lodge which has incredible potential as it is a massive property with ample grounds but the lovely owners have a eccentric outlook which is very charming so you somehow get it. Full off memorabilia, Antiques, brick a brack it is a collectable/antique dealers cavern of joy....

Found this lodge by accident. But what a great welcome we were given. As we booked in the lady kindly made us a pot of tea and some biscuits. Our room was outstanding as was breakfast the next morning. The lodge is an old farm building kept in old style very well done also many antiques around. Extremely good value...

This hotel is incredible, unique, quirky, quaint & completely different to anywhere that we have ever stayed before, Peter & Evelyn are such genuinely nice people & made us feel completely at home from the minute we arrived when a huge pot of tea was put in front of the log fire for us & again when we came down...
