A good overnight stay at the Oaks. We were en route to Holy Island. We have stayed at the Oaks on several occasions and always enjoy our stay. Food is consistently good and the welcome is always warm. Rooms are well appointed, if a little 'well used'. We will return when in the area.

We took my elderly ( 88) mother to the Oaks for a meal. They have always offered "Senior Citizens meals" - we wondered how long you have to braise them for- which are excellent value for 3 courses, and although we offered anything on the menu she chose that option. We had a la carte options and all three main...

After spotting the sign outside we decided to try the offer. It was advertising a 3 course meal with tea or coffee for pensioners at £7 each! You could have soup or orange juice for starters. A choice of 4 main courses, (unfortunately no veggie option) Dessert was a choice of ice cream. It was a nice friendly place &...

We decided on this venue partly based on Tripadvisor reviews, which seemed to augur well, but the experience didn't live up to expectations. The serving and bar staff being the exception in that they were welcoming, friendly and efficient. The interior of the premises are somewhat tired in appearance and quite gloomy. From the menu we went for mains. Two...

Decided to go away for Easter and chose beautiful Alnwick. I have never been to this part of the country before but will definitely go again. We stayed at The Oaks Hotel which was lovely. The room was large and spacious, with complimentary tea/coffee, unfortunately only one cup, not the end of the world though. There was plenty of storage...

Dropped in for a light lunch and pleasantly surprised to find moules on the specials menu. Starter size very substantial served with a warm mini baguette. With a glass of wine each, bill came to under £25. Have never been disappointed by the food here

Called in for lunch yesterday, had soup for a starter I can say it's the worst excuse for a soup I have ever had. It was a puree of vegetables that resembled baby food so thick awful mains weren't too bad but I will not be returning. The staff were friendly and efficient and the pub was very warm and...

We arrived at 8:40pm and there were other people dining. The free tables were ready for breakfast in the morning however they rearranged a table without fuss for us to eat at. Food arrived in good time. I have to say this was the best meal I've tasted in a long time! I ordered salmon with risotto and my partner...
