We booked 2 nights in september at the Georgian House. Shortly before we intended to arrive, Jo the owner phoned to say she had double booked and would we stay at the Castle Gate G H close by?. OK, so arrived, good location, lovely old stone building on the main street leading to the Hotspur Gate. Large room facing the... More

Breakfast was good, plenty of it. Very attentive staff, great value for money, and excellent location for Alnwick and travelling to surrounding areas. On occasion, bit noisy in the morning staying above kitchen and room was a little on the small side but nothing that would stop us coming back.

A warm friendly welcome though a little confusion over the booking was quickly dealt with. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Slept really well in a great big bed. Bathroom could do with a little tlc to the ceiling. Breakfast room was cramped but breakfast was tasty and hot. Stayed for 2 nights as close to all attractions. Tracy... More

Just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Alnwick and also close to the castle and Alnwick Garden. Parking in front of the guest house is limited to 3 cars and there is the kerb also to drive up and over; on the other side of the road are 3 ordinary parking bays; a bit further away the... More

Me and my daughter stayed for 3 night. The room was the family room on the 1st floor. Room itself wasn't bad but no storage. A very small wardrobe. The bathroom is tiny. The room did get drafty with the old windows. Really needs updating. Breakfast not bad. But the day we left a mat had been left on the... More

Very small room, minute bathroom. Security almost non-existent in that front door key left under mat for arrival (not a late arrival) and room key in door. So small that you could hear other guests moving around etc. Dining room furniture was old and tatty, and very cramped. BUT breakfast was good. Not keen on being asked to pay cash.... More

Friendly and helpful owner. Rooms clean and bed very comfortable. Usual tea making facilities and well stocked. Even a teapot! Breakfast was fresh cooked, hot and plentiful. I also got caught out with the parking. Bashed the underside of my car even at a virtual standstill, so be careful.

We stayed in the family room, which was room 1 on the ground floor. When we arrived Tracey greeted us at our room and on first impression was very bubbly, chatty and gave us plenty of recommendations for dining and drinking in the area. The heating had been put on for our arrival and our room was warm and cosy for... More

Booked this accommodation on line and so were committed to the stay of 2 nights. On arrival, there was no one at the property but the front door was open and I was able to walk in. On phoning the owner, we were told to check ourselves in as the key was in the lock. Parking was at the front... More
