The room was spacious, with everything you would need and more. The house is beautiful and was a real treat to stay in. We were made to feel very welcome and Jeanette and Bruce were very helpful with lots of local knowledge, ensuring our exploration of the local area was interesting. If back this way West Acre House will be...

This was our second stay at West Acre House. After a warm welcome we were shown to our beautifully appointed bedroom. There was everything we needed for our stay including a hospitality tray of tea/coffee/hot chocolate, biscuits and sweets. The bathroom had toileteries for guests who may have forgotten to pack an essential item - very thoughtful! The bed was...

West Acre House has always been a favourite place for us to stay, so when we received an invitation to a wedding in the Borders area this had to be the number 1 choice for an overnight stay. We have stayed here on several occasion right from day one. Back in April 2008 we paid our first visit to West...

We were looking forward to our stay at Bruce and Jeanette's beautiful B and B and it was everything we had envisaged and more. We were greeted by Jeanette with coffee and cake (gluten free for me). Jeanette told us the best places to dine and beauty spots to visit as well as a bit area history. We had our...

Have just spend 3 nights at West Acre House and I can't praise it highly enough. Everything was excellent: a clean and well-equipped room, a comfortable bed, a delicious breakfast, a beautiful house and gardens and a short walk into the town centre. However, it was all the extra touches that made our stay really special: the dressing gowns, the...

My wife and I spent 4 nights here at the beginning of our 3-week trip through Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Lovely welcome on our arrival by Bruce, who after we had brought in our bags served us with a very much appreciated cup of tea and an assortment of cake/biscuits in the Garden room. The whole house is tastefully decorated and a credit to the owners, who offer the kind of generous hospitality associated with this part of the country....
