Nothing wrong with the rooms etc all very nice but what lets the hotel down is the restaurant. The food is very very average and not as you would expect. The restaurant staff need serious training. I was seated, given a menu and some water and then left for around 20 minutes without being asked what I wanted to drink....

This was our second attempt at afternoon tea and this was only because the first one was a complete disappointment (given compliments voucher). Receptionist had our names booked in but on entering the restaurant was told they were not expecting us and asked us to wait!! The picture on the website is nothing like what was put in front of...

The staff as this hotel really made the difference for us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were attending a Christmas party with a 1 night stay. The food served was very good and it was all extremely well coordinated, the best I have experienced at a large party. The pool area was clean and looked quite new. We...

Dear bigaitchLiverpool, Thank you for staying with us and for posting your comments too. The food pricing is competitive for other 4star hotels and we get busier as January continues so the atmosphere will be much livelier in the second half of the month. So glad you like the new Spa ! I slept in my dressing gown, had to go to public areas spa, bar to warm up, complained on first night only reception can control temperature in my room - what's the point in having a thermostat in room then ! My room doubled up as small meeting room perhaps that's why they are not bothered about this issue room...

If only I could have stayed another night to enjoy this clean and comfortable hotel and take advantage of the inviting-looking pool! But alas we were on a quick visit for my nephew's wedding. As I needed more than the average time to put my face on for the event I had breakfast sent up to my room and it...

Lovely room and my spa treatments were perfect. I had a massage and my nails done and I used the steam room and pool. The little fridge and cold water bottles were a lovely touch. Just one thing....skip the breakfast deal....just pay for the bits you actually want....not their fault....mine ! Next time...I'm just going for the toast and coffee.

Spent Christmas there. £9.30 for a 250 ml glass of house wine is outrageously expensive. Food was good but a large and noisy party with young children that no-one (including hotel staff) was making any attempt to control effectively put the bar and reception out of bounds. I paid for three days but left after two; I believe this says...

Very clean and room was lovely - very comfortable big beds and spacious bathroom and extra sofa and table. Stayed 24-27th Dec so very busy - staff friendly - breakfast is expensive at £13 each we only got it once. Would stay again and hopefully use Spa which shut early over Christmas. Plenty of parking: never ate in restaurant but...
