Being the highest pub in the uk, once the fog had cleared we had a brilliant view. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the chef came out to make recommendations. The portions were generous and decent for pub grub, you wouldn't leave hungry.

A Oasis on the moors - after a long day hiking on the pennine way - the pint and cheerful banter at the bar -- sorted out the days ache and pains - This pub is like a throw back to what pubs should be - before the "Gastro" pubs - Super hospitable owners, really making everyone feel involved. I...

Its been well over two years since I was last at Tan Hill Inn. The last time was with the IBA UK Bikers. Jeannie and I called in on Saturday lunchtime and had an absolutely wonderful lunch. The staff were attentive, polite, and friendly. The lady who served us was great. Nothing was too much trouble. Even when I swapped...

Such a lovely warm welcoming place, we were there to see Scouting for Girls and had never visited the pub before. It was a horrendous night weather wise, but the atmosphere inside easily helped everyone forget about the increasing snow level outside. We didn't get there to sample the food this time, but looking at what was coming out its...

We saw this place in a magazine on places to visit in the Dales and I'm glad we did. We were staying near Aysgarth (see other reviews) so traveled to Hawes then headed north through Butter Tubs Pass, well worth the drive. The pub was great a friendly welcome for us and our young daughter. The pub has a resident...
