An historic country Manor House built in 1871 set in a quiet rural setting, located five minutes from Scotch Corner (J53 A1), ideally situated half way Richmond and Barnard Castle. The Manor boasts seven luxurious guest bedrooms, including two large suites situated on the top floor, all equipped with en-suite bathrooms and promise a refined luxury experience. All rooms include TV's with digital free view, Luxury toiletries locally produced by Noble Island, Mahogany King-Size Beds, luxurious towels and linens, Nespresso machines and minibars. Our full english breakfast ingredients are all locally sourced and are complimented by a continental offering. Our Drawing Room features a guest honesty bar, with access to outdoor seating. The Manor is available for exclusive use private hire from £790 per night and makes the perfect setting for corporate residential training events. wedding groups, and other special occasions. Our Yorkshire Suite is also available for business meetings with day delegates.

We loved everything about West Layton Manor, including Ben and Richard who looked after us so well. Our suite was fantastic, huge, cozy, well equipped, incredibly clean and well maintained. Communal areas all beautiful with open fires, decor wonderful throughout and to top everything a fantastic breakfast with top quality local produce. Location ideal for visiting the stunning local areas and a taxi was always on hand, organised by the Manor, to run us to the many nearby restaurants in the evenings. We will be back ASAP

Just returning from a night's stay at this gorgeous B&B. It is the perfect place for a relaxing break and is definitely the best B&B my boyfriend and I have stayed in, it beats some hotels we’ve stayed in. We had to wait a few minutes to be greeted when we arrived, but it wasn’t an issue and Ben was so welcoming and friendly, offered to take our bags to our room and asked about our plans. We had booked the Black Bull in Moulton for our evening meal (which is also great) and Ben offered to book us a taxi with a local taxi service. We really appreciated this offer and the taxi driver was super lovely and knowledgable about the area. We stayed in the Richmond Suite based on recommendations and we were definitely not disappointed. It is a gorgeous, spacious suite with 2 rooms. Really comfortable living room and we enjoyed the complimentary sherry whilst watching Netflix on the TV! Beautiful views over the back fields with all the autumnal colours, so peaceful. The bedroom is also big, with a beautiful bed and the best copper bath I’ve ever been in. We always bring bubble bath and it was genuinely the best bath I’ve ever had! Classical FM was playing in the room when we arrived, and although we don’t usually listen to it we kept it on and paired with the birds tweeting outside we were relaxed within minutes. Also the huge marble shower is amazing! After a really comfortable sleep we went for breakfast in the Yorkshire room. There were warm pastries, Greek yoghurt and fresh berries, homemade jams and honey, toast and an option of a hot dish as well. We both opted for the full English which wasn’t huge, but with everything else on offer it was the perfect size - we were both full by the end of breakfast. The decor in the communal areas and bedroom and the exterior of the building are equally beautiful. The sitting room where there is an honesty bar is such a lovely idea and I can imagine it worked well pre Covid and hopefully will again post Covid. We genuinely cannot fault West Layton Manor at all. It was perfect for the relaxing break we needed, super friendly and attentive staff, beautiful rooms and tasty breakfast. We celebrated my partner's birthday with a weekend away at West Layton Manor and it was absolutely fantastic. I cannot fault anything. The Manor itself and rooms were beautiful. The staff were so lovely and so helpful. the breakfast was one of the best we have had in a UK hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough :)
