Simonstone Hall, once home to Lord and Lady Wharncliff is set at the foot of Stags Fell with breathtaking Views over Upper Wensleydale, the River Ure and the foothills of the Pennine range. This magnificent country house, is privately owned and has been carefully restored, whilst preserving the historic character of the beautiful building. Standing in it's own splendid grounds, the view from the front of the hotel is surely one of the most stunning in the country and can e enjoyed from serveral of the bedrooms also.Simonstone Hall is the ultimate tranquil retreat; it's atmosphere exudes comfort and finery in equal measures. Our first visit to Simonstone Hall for several years-it has certainly gone upmarket and delightfully so.

I am not a cyclist myself but have stayed when other guests have clearly been avid cyclist. Initially seen there bikes attached to their vehicles but later think the hotel has provided somewhere for them although I cannot say to what standard security this would be I would imagining they would treat any guests property with respect .staff and management are very helpful so call them I am sure they will be happy to help both of you in your cycling and walking pursuits. I can say that when you have enjoyed your outings the hotels comfort food and warm ambiance will finish off your day with a smile enjoy your visit we always have
