Despite a couple of issues initially with the Lodge, which were resolved straight away by the fantastic staff onsite, we had a great time here. The lodges do need some updating, which is happening as it has been bought by someone who will be spending...More

all though it's awful that you have been dropped in it, if your holiday had been half as bad as ours you've missed a trick. we also have been before and loved everything about the site and surroundings and our lodge was spot on. We've just returned last week from a hell hole. With it being taken over and refurbished they've obviously let the lodges decline. Our lodge had a broken boiler so no heat and sporadic hot water. There was not enough plates, glasses and 1 teaspoon for a 4 person lodge. The extractor fan have you industrial deafness. There was no comfort, the beds were rock hard, no cushions on the sofa, the curtains didn't fit the windows and were hung with what looked like paper clips, there was a hole in the bathroom wall, the bath had a massive chip in the bottom. I know in the reviews a reviewer implied we were maybe expecting too much but I'm no snob and I know what the standards were last time and they'd slipped massively. There was no brushes to sweep the slippy decking or even the floor in the lodge.
I do hope you find somewhere else as it's awful what's happened. if you read the reviews on Facebook you'll discover the park was taken over in September I think so why it has taken so long to cancel your booking is beyond me, but honestly it could be a blessing in disguise.
