Good points: Lovely picturesque location, staff friendly, lodge comfortable and spacious, heating/boiler very good so nice and warm with nice hot shower (a worry in November!) great hot tub, clean bathroom/bedding and kitchen, Henderson's bar lovely and homely with nice food, safe environment for children. Dishwasher in kitchen, bed comfortable, decor modern. Bad points: Drainage very poor, could only shower... More

It was a last minute booking just to get a week away from all hussle and bussle of everything, Lodges off the beaten track "GREAT" I know it was Nov so it was very quite, Just what we were looking for on arrival had a quick drink in the Henderson bar and bistro very nice, If you are a keen... Stunning location with rolling hills and beautiful countryside! The lodge on the other hand was mediocre. It seems that because the lodge has a hot tub the cabin doesn't need any attention. Hot tub freezing when we arrived, although apparently this is common and explained in the paperwork. Stained towel left in room (pictured), although this apparently isn't the owners... More

Well we booked this place as we needed a get away, somewhere cheap and somewhere we'd never been before, and I'm glad we picked here. The location is brilliantly hidden from the road so you feel like you are miles from anywhere yet you are only a mile or two from Aysgarth. On site there is a pub and restaurant... More

We have just come back from a weekend here. We booked a Maple VIP Lodge and stayed in number 70 which was located right at the bottom of the site. Arrived Fri teatime when it was dark checked in fine and we're given a little carton of free range milk and a small loaf which I thought was a lovely... More

we recently stayed in lodge 70 for a weekend break. The lodge itself was nice but could do with some items been replaced or cleaned. The oven had previous guests food congealed onto the oven shelves and the microwave bottom had no paint on it was just metal where the plastic rotated inside. The radiator in the bathroom was really... More

Having read so many negative comments, we were expecting the worst, however we were quite pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. We stayed in the Laburnum VIP lodge, first impressions, better than expected, after closer inspection of the lodge, there were quite a few bits and bobs that were tired and needed replacing or cleaning. The settees were both very old,... More

This is the 2nd time visiting this location and it was very good. The lodge was in fairly good condition with some slight issues. First issue being the lighting was quite poor so we had to stick to the dining table to have good lighting. Second being some of the furniture was quite worn (deep scratches in leather and flaking)... More

We visited from Nov 4th as a family of 9, we booked 2 VIP lodges which cost us over £600. We have visited here 6 times and have never had to complain but coming back 6 months later westholme estate has gone really down hill. Firstly, the lodges are so run down. Cobwebs everywhere, insects in all the corners, mould... More
