This was our second visit to Wood View. The Grade II listed house is spacious and cosy and right by the village green and the Gamecock Inn. The rooms are very comfortable and well furnished and the views from the windows are lovely. Despite its central position, Wood View is beautifully quiet at night, even with the windows open. The...

We stayed with David and Sue at Wood View for two nights when we were completing the 3 peaks challenge. David could not have been more helpful when we were preparing for our trip and when we arrived we were greated with a log fire and pot of tea. Scones were also on offer but we were going out to...

Whats not to love? David and Sue are the loveliest couple, perfect hosts from the moment we arrived. Greeted with warmth and smiles and so easy to chat with over freshly brewed tea and home made biscuits that Sue had made. David carried our bags to room No. 5 and wow, it is so tastefully decorated, so warm and cosy....

We come back every year to this wonderful B&B nestled in the most amazing location. Sue and David are the perfect hosts and nothing ever appears too much trouble for them. Breakfast is the highlight of the day with Sue cooking the best eggs ever! Whether you want beautiful walks, gorgeous towns or just lots of tea and cake, then...

Well me and my partner normally go camping in and around the dales but this year we decided to stay in a b&b and we could not have been happier with the b&b overall from the welcoming owners to the nice hot bath in the king size room! The breakfast for me is very important as I am fussy for...

On Sunday 23rd October we went back to this lovely welcoming Bed & Breakfast place for a few days R & R, with a couple of superb walks as well before one of our party had an extremely difficult operation. We had been before and the welcome was just as warm and friendly this time, like a big emotional hug....

Overnight stay at short notice at the end of the season. Wonderful welcome, very good accommodation and breakfast made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Will certainly use again when in the area. If planning to eat at The Game Cock Inn early booking is definitely advisable

Loved this B&B! Sue and David are marvellous, natural hosts who made us welcome from the moment we stepped inside the front door. The house is absolutely gorgeous and we loved our huge room on the second floor, with its massive beam and comfortable window seat providing a lovely view. Breakfasts were very good and relaxed. The Game Cock Inn...

We stayed at Wood View for four nights on a trip to enjoy the fantastic road bicycling and hiking in the area. It was a perfect basecamp, and Austwick is a lovely village. The guest house is warm and comfortable, with spacious rooms and views, but what really makes this place wonderful is David and Sue Dewhirst. A warm welcome...
