Booked Sunday lunch in outdoor area for 130 pm. Roast dinners took 40 minutes to come, 5 minutes later cutlery arrived after asking for it. 5 minutes after that the gravy arrived. As you can imagine food was cold by then, and beef tough. A young man near us waited at least 90 minutes after hus partner for his food despite repeatedly asking for it. Something has gone seriously wrong here. No management appeared to sort out the problem. What a shame as not many places to eat at moment in Melton Mowbray . This is the worst meal and service I have ever seen, and I wouldn’t normally complain.
Wow what can I say we had the most amazing wedding reception. The staff went above and beyond to make our day special including dressing the room. We also stayed at the hotel and the room was extremely comfortable and clean. Thank you for an amazing stay.
Returned to the Harboro Hotel as stayed there last year and it was very good. Very glad to say it was an even better experience this time. Room was bright and airy, very clean and despite being on the main road side the double glazing stopped any noise. The Covid-19 restrictions were in place and effective without being overbearing. We ate from the Indian menu and the food was some of the best i have tasted. The Bar area has a great atmosphere and plenty of variety in the beers on sale. The "piece de resistance"was the full English breakfast, cooked to perfection by the young lady that was receptionist waitress and cook all in one go. The staff at the Harboro are really very very good, welcoming and efficient. Do not miss this gem in the town.
We went for our first meal out after Lockdown and looked forward with anticipation to a nice nosh up,The staff were very good, attentive and helpful throughout. Our starters arrived,Crab Cakes, very small portions and whilst tasty enough were very 'crunchy' and not very 'Crabby'. My T Bone steak was fairly gristly but the rest enjoyed their Turf and Surf meal. Portions were generous except for the pepper sauce which turned out to be a mushroom sauce and not a lot of it. The real disappointment was the Tiramisu dessert which is supposed to have a light sponge base soaked in coffee liqueur. The base was more like a fudge brownie and it hardly tasted of coffee or liqueur. Tasty enough but a Tiramisu it was not. Also the social distancing between tables was very questionable.
What a treat for the family (see the pictures) the Beef Burgers are very tasty and the fish pie is perfect, no problems with Social Distancing we booked a table for 1.00pm and had no problems, booked to go again on Wednesday.
