Visited to catch up friends. Happy with our room choices, however there are a lot of steps and walking to get around the hotel and to get to rooms. The rooms were very cool whilst we were there for the weekend. Room heating was inadequate. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. The night staff...

Attended a wedding here over the weekend and I must say everything about the hotel from the staff, food, drink and especially the grounds it was fantastic. The only thing that let it down was that we couldn't get an early check in. The room wasn't ready until 2 and the wedding started at half past 1. Luckily we already...

My wife and I were here last weekend with 10 guests attending the grand national at Aintree. We all arrived on the Friday night and had a private drinks reception in a lovely wee snug room beside the top level dining room which led out on to the table, the service from Jamie was excellent on both nights as we...

Stayed in the modern extension part of the hotel. Did not eat in hotel, so cant comment on the food. Staff friendly, especially the 2 gents who worked nights, one of whom arrange another room for us as we had gone out leaving window open and lights on and midges had decided to take up residency in our rooms.! The hotel is a Victorian building with modern extension. Décor is typical Victorian with ornate ceilings, panelling etc. The bar serves food until 10pm which is a pleasant surprise. Restaurant in the hotel also. Good breakfast selection; plenty of parking. Rooms are of a reasonable size with bath and shower. Only a couple of miles from M6.

I rarely write reviews but feel the need to highlight to people against wasting their money at Kilhey Court on afternoon tea. As we went last weekend for Mother's Day and were left extremely disappointed. The afternoon tea arrived on one, three tiered serving tray and consisted of the following; - three scones - a layer of processed cakes (home...

Unless you want a room the size of a shoebox, upgrade to a premier room/ suite and request the main building or you have to walk outside. Unless you don't mind washing your hands without soap, pack your own and throw in some tissues, bin bags and towels. Very out of the way, nothing within walking distance. Unprofessional staff. Poor...
