We stayed at this hotel as part of a National holidays Skipton, Southport and the Lakes tour - select hotel. Worst hotel we have had the misfortune to stay. National Holidays should inform its customers that hotel is used by immigration services to house foreign nationals.

Dear Valued Guest, We are currently spending a lot of time and effort, refurbishing and redecorating all our rooms and hopefully on your next visit you will see this yourself. For further reference, we do facilitate room credit to allow guests to charge food, drink, leisure facilities and other products to their room accounts, I am unsure on this occasion...

We visited this hotel last week for 4days with National Holidays. I must say I was quite horrified when reading the reviews as we thought for what we had paid couldn't fault staff room or food. Parts of the hotel was tired and needing doing up and carpet was old. We did notice the refugees and while they didn't bother...

It's a 3*- but the second room was only marginally better than the first. I rang reservations to start with- because I had paid in advance there was nothing they could do- excellent customer service? I think not. So the guy on reception who is doing a full double shift on reception kindly showed me another room- which didn't have...

Where to begin? Perhaps in saying in saying this one does not even pretend to fit into the bracket of ‘the finest collection of iconic and historic hotels’. Not that you would expect that on the outskirts of Wigan but it has sparked my amusement and prose. The glass atrium foyer may be quite pleasant on a summer’s day, but...

Dear Treasured Guest, We are currently putting our upmost efforts into improving, refurbishing and redecorating our hotel to allow us to enter the brackets of both 'iconic' and 'historic'. I do apologise for our glass atrium foyer's ambience and I am glad to hear that you discovered the chemical smells belonged not to a heinous crime, but to that of...

Just read Geordielass's review and wholeheartedly concur. People hanging around who you wouldn't normally associate with relatively decent hotels in the UK, generally poor standard of hygiene/cleanliness and agree about the clothes being dried on the sill outside a bedroom window. Twice during the night the fire alarms went off, lots of banging on doors during the night and we...

We booked into this hotel on an emergency visit to Wigan & Leigh Hospice to visit a close relative We waited for the lift to go to our room on check in and were surprised to see an unkempt man step out smoking a cigarette and with a glass of alcohol.
