This inn is sited in a wonderful position over looking a beautiful river and view across the moors. Inside the bars and restaurants are very nicely appointed with many places to sit and enjoy views including a lovely log fire. We only dropped in for lunch and enjoyed excellent sandwiches and super draught beer. We would like to return to...

A very picturesque setting for this pub with rooms and we received a very friendly welcome. We had a room overlooking the river (see photos) and the standard of furnishing is very good. It meets my requirement for a comfortable large bed and a shower which drenches you rather than a pathetic dribble. The reason this not a perfect score...

I have visited this place several times when out for the day on a tour of the Forest of Bowland as Sawley is right on the edge of it and provides easy access to other villages. The pub/hotel is excellent in every way, very smart inside and comfortable, in a lovely location with really nice views across to Pendle Hill....

I met my friends here for lunch and the second we stepped through the door, we felt very unwelcome. The bar staff service was shocking, very unprofessional, very incompetent and very slow. Absolutely no people skills from any staff, including the woman we assume was the manager. Food was nice. We were over charged on the bill by £19 for...

We were here for two nights, the room was large and very well appointed with many extras which was lovely (bathroom toiletries, bathrobes, lots of sugar/milk etc). The bed was huge and very comfortable. Lovely rainwater shower. However, a few niggles let it down - there was a lot of condensation on the windows, but that was counteracted by the...

Went here last weekend for a wedding anniversary! The abbey room was fantastic! The view was gorgeous and the cosy fireplace section was relaxing once I found myself in a food-coma! Would recommend this room to those having any kind of gathering!

We went for an overnight stay for a wedding and felt so well looked after, the staff couldn't have done more. There were some tricky diets and they catered really well for vegan, gluten free and veggies. The place itself is quirky with a mixture of old fashioned country charm and up to date modern amenities including a fantastic bathroom...

Just returned this morning from an overnight stay, we stayed in room no 5, we were here for a wedding which was beautiful from start to finish. Staff were amazing in particular Rebecca who was everywhere in the hotel and who worked so hard all day and was even there at breakfast the following day with a smile on her...

we visited the restaurant on numerous occasions during a recent holiday. The food was delicious every time but the fish and chip night was outstandingly good and value for money. The two granddaughters chose a variety of small items and the very busy waitress didn't turn a hair!
