Just returned this morning from an overnight stay, we stayed in room no 5, we were here for a wedding which was beautiful from start to finish. Staff were amazing in particular Rebecca who was everywhere in the hotel and who worked so hard all day and was even there at breakfast the following day with a smile on her... More

we visited the restaurant on numerous occasions during a recent holiday. The food was delicious every time but the fish and chip night was outstandingly good and value for money. The two granddaughters chose a variety of small items and the very busy waitress didn't turn a hair!

I stayed here for two nights at the end of August, it was the first time I had stayed anywhere by myself, so I was a little nervous. However, the friendly staff and lovely surroundings meant that I felt instantly at home. My room was very nice, I chose the one with the bath so I could relax after a... More

Spent a wonderful couple of days at the Spread Eagle. What a fabulous location, with a beautiful & serene river opposite with seating alongside it. There are also beautiful green spaces (again with seating) opposite and a marvellously evocative ruined abbey. The interior is comfortable, beautiful & stylish, in the shabby chic mode, in both bedroom & public areas. It... More

I have been here now to eat on two occasions. To be honest, the pub (with rooms) looks lovely from the outside but even better once you step inside. It's just across the road from the ruins of Sawley Abbey, overlooking the river with plenty of parking. Inside, it's a pub with decor that's stunning yet retains that comfortable old... More

What's not to like about the Spread Eagle at Sawley? Always tip-top beer, a wonderful setting and fantastic food at reasonable prices. We've dined here several times in recent months - each one a pleasure - and we're sure to return again and again.
