Not been for years and as it was a fine sunny day we decided to call in for lunch. What a good idea! Lots to pick from but we decided to have two starters rather than a full lunch. I had the large portion of Moules Mariniere. Beautiful. Lovely cream/wine sauce. Loads of mussels. Followed that with a delicious Rabbit...

What an amazing setting, drive up to a beautiful house in lovely kept gardens. Brought my Mum here for afternoon tea, taken through to the restaurant, sat across from the lit open fire. Sandwiches and cakes very good with great service. Well Worth a visit.

Room was beautiful and very clean - nice biscuits :) We are having our wedding here and were here on a taster evening so it would be unfair for me to comment on the evening meal (as that was what the taster was designed for!). Cosy night's sleep in the Tudor room which has a lovely outlook onto the river....

Just outside the quaint village of Whalley- fabulous looking old building in the country. There is plenty of parking space. The entrance hall is a tall wide room with a comfortable seating area and a bar. We were there for a midweek lunch so weddings didn't come into the equation. The menu was well laid out starting with the '...

Stayed one night. We were part of a small team on an overnight conference stop. Ancient building full of character. So... yes the stairs are a bit crooked and the floorboards creak a bit, but the building is beautiful, the furnishings are tasteful, the rooms are large, and clean, there's plenty tea and coffee available, and bottled water in the...

Having visited many restaurants in the area over the years, I was a bit surprised when someone mentioned this place to me as having a good restaurant and Id never come across it. Staff welcome was very good; typical Lancashire in that it was friendly and not stuffy. The only drawback I can see with this place, and it became...

An excellent venue for a short stay. Afternoon tea in the cosy bar area. Followed by an excellent meal in the dining room. A great get away in a lovely old building with most of its original features still in place

I was put up here by a company I was visiting on business and was pleased they did. The place is a beautiful old house and the staff are excellent, everyone had a smile on their faces and very polite, could not ask for better. The breakfast here is excellent, the room very comfortable and very clean. A little Gem...

We had an excellent Sunday Lunch on 26 February for 18 people. It was held in the private dining room which was beautifully set out,and the views were stunning. Staff attentive and food enjoyed by everyone. A memorable day. Thank you.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A four star country house hotel providing luxury accommodation at the heart of the fabulous Ribble Valley. Our big idea for bringing this magnificent 15th Century manor house back to life was to take it back to its roots and make it feel like a home again. Somewhere that looks and feels like it belongs to somebody. Stunning interior design and decoration perfectly complement the ancient architectural features to create a contemporary country house hotel. Both effortlessly beautiful and unashamedly romantic. The ambience is quite unique. It is certainly luxurious and feels exclusive but the luxury and exclusivity are open to all. From a relaxing morning coffee or afternoon tea, to lunch or dinner and for everything in between. ... more   less
