I stayed here with two friends whilst attending a festival. Bev checked us in early, had printed out bus timetables and taxis numbers for both the saturday and the sunday already ready for us which was brilliant because we had never been to the rochdale area before. Bev was very helpful the whole time and made us feel extremely welcome....

Been to the castleton three times and its the same old menu, very dated, tatty surroundings .meals are very drab, and very over priced.was seated at a table for 7 people near the window which was very cold and very dark, waiter evern took a way a dessert before the lady had finished her food.....bar prices very dear,

Basically a good hotel, however it lets itself down on several key points. Firstly the overall decor is very drab, indistinct brown, which is showing its age and in need of a complete redecoration. I did not stay here but I had a lovely meal. It was my nannies favourite place to eat. I came for a 3 course meal with my family,it was beautiful,nice and hot and plenty of it,the service was amazing,polite and no one was pushy which was nice. Soup,turkey dinner and a lovely dessert we do not have in Norfolk,unfortunately....
