Can't fault the cleanliness of the bedroom and especially bathroom - first class. Minimal supply of toiletries, but perhaps reflects the 'level' of hotel. The bed in our particular room was a bit disappointing - not very solid, with the frame moving when turning on the mattress. Food in restaurant is lacking in vegetables! (but this is quite typical in...

attended a wedding on the 14th of Jan 2017 - reception staff friendly, happy and helpful . This is a old hotel - with charm , not a boutique hotel with sharp corners and stainless steel surfaces.. Food was good from wedding breakfast through to Sunday's cooked breakfast . Shout out to Saturdays bar staff and Toby on Sunday mornings...

Recently attended a wedding at the Higher Trapp which involved the entire day including ceremony. A pleasant country location in a building which has a mixture of history and modernity. The meal was nothing special but the room was fine and full praise to the staff especially the manageress who was more than helpful. Drinks at the bar could have...

Stay here at least 5 nights in 2016 and I believe the standards are falling. My room was heated by electric heater and for the price was substandard The food was good but I felt service could have been better. Seems to be new staff each time I stay. The only good thing about this place is Ray the barman...

Great hotel, happy helpful staff. Lovely food. Booked again for this year before we left, it's popular so book early, you won't be disapointed. Although a lot of new staff this year we were looked after just as well. The hotel is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

We needed to try somewhere new this year and this Hotel looked like it would be the sort of place where we would fit in with their Gala Dinner/Dance. We also decided to stay over to avoid the hassle of Taxis. We were not disappointed. The menu was attractive and the food did not let it down. The music was...

Every year we visit different establishments for our family new year celebration. We arrive early in the afternoon, settle into our room and then go for a long walk down the country lanes in readiness for the evening celebrations ahead. Over the last six years, we have had mixed feelings about the hotels we have stayed in. This year turned...

Right from my first phone call to leaving the venue the staff were fantastic. I booked our works Christmas party on one of the casino nights and i have to say a very good time was had by all. Will defiantly recommend.

Short, but very pleasant stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. Excellent buffet breakfast. Nice room (soundproofing average). Quiet country location. Good value for money. Will plan to stop there again.

“Be aware that there is no lift (as the hotel do make clear upon booking). If you would mind being allocated a room in the separate outbuilding which is next door to the main hotel, make the request at time of booking. Note that the outbuilding also seems to allow dogs in some rooms (not ideal if it is a annoyingly yappy one, as we encountered!)”
