My wife and I had our wedding at the Bell Hotel back in October 2015, and we simply couldn't fault it - but that's not what this review is about. Fast forward 1 year and we decide to book in again for a night on our first anniversary. When I booked on the phone, the staff immediately congratulated us and...

A hotel with considerable history. Very limited car parking. Stayed overnight and met several friends for drinks in the lively bar. Rooms were fine - a little dated, but clean and functional. Breakfast was slow but well worth waiting for.

The hotel is really nice with a lovely decoration. The breakfast also is very good. The only detail that upset me was that the garbage from the previous guest was not remove😬 but it does not made the hotel unpleasant!

Lovely old building, friendly staff and a very good Sunday roast. Unfortunately, the beef was tough this time but we've eaten here in the past and it's been very good. Shepherd Neame kindly paid for my main meal, as they did last year, as it's my birthday this month.

Quirky wine bar as part of the hotel. Found it slightly overpriced for what it was but overall good service and feel to it. Rooms look lovely when looked online may book soon. Not somewhere i would pick for food due to pricing if im honest.

We stayed at The Bell for a weekend as part of a large party (over 60 people). The location was great and the potential equally so but nothing was great about The Bell. The worst thing of it all was the internet. In order to get on it, one has to agree that the provider can use one's data to...

Went there for our wedding anniversary with both our families. There was another party going on and clearly it was too much for the staff. We waited forever to place our orders and it took ages for our drinks to finally arrive...We were even about to leave! Then, we waited even more for our food. Starters finally arrived and portions...

We stayed at the Bell on August Bank Holiday. This is the second time we've stayed here and we will definitely be back again We had room No 1 which was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was enormous and the roll top bath was wonderful after a day walking round and exploring the town - we stayed...

We had the Sunday roast after having starters. I had smoked salmon which come with a spoonful of chopped beetroot, but I had to ask for bread to go with it. My guest had a goat tartlet which came surrounded with chopped hazelnuts. The roasts: I had pork which was tasteless, and the crackling so rubbery if I had not...

My parents invited us to dinner and they decided to book the Bell Hotel. The evening was faultless, the food, staff and ambience were all absolutely perfect. I can't recommend this venue enough. My parents are frequent day time visitors and they were thrilled that the evening service was on par with the daytime. The portions were generous and priced...
