Sandwich and district is surprisingly limited for good hotels and so the Bell Hotel is well used. The rooms have been refurbished, many with large double beds and upgraded bathrooms. However the standard of cleaning was poor (soap wrapper not cleared, light bulb faulty, bed badly re-made, towels not replaced etc) also the TV had no signal one evening. The...

Delightful place in historic town, Good breakfast . Great location. As it happened I stayed in the best room of our group, But the other rooms were perfectly adequate. No minibar was only quibble so no fridge to store assorted drinks bought for early start golf day. It was the hottest day of the year so my fruit drinks turned...

Everything at this hotel has considered quality, from soft furnishings, bathroom furniture, view to the river and breakfast. The staff are helpful and welcoming. We got a good rate when booking, but would happily pay more. We will return!

I was travelling from Scotland to stay with a close friend of 34 years. I was going to arrive very late and did not want to wake my friend. I pulled over and booked this hotel for one night, explaining that I would arrive about 12 am. The staff were so helpful and kind. The room was absolute sumptuous elegance...

The Bell hotel indeed has old world charm but with contemporary decor and modern services and is tastefully designed, when we arrived we received a friendly welcome from reception, And was shown to our room which was lovely, it was clean and spacious and offered great views...

We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Sandwich. The hotel is in a nice location near the quayside. There is a road nearby but it was not intrusive. There are nice walks around the old town walls and it is not far into the town centre. We paid a little extra for a river view and the room was...

Our Dining club visited the Bell hotel on a Thursday evening as a party of 7 and were immediately led to a large tastefully designed dining area. The staff were excellent and guided us through the wine list and recommend some recently wine critic tasted reds. We tried a bottle but were unimpressed as it had a metallic aftertaste! We...

Called in two weeks ago to have a drink and sit outside which is usually good. Went to the bar to find all the ales were gone, only lager available. The reason given, even though it was a Tuesday was, there's been a wake, "they've drunk all the beer". We left disappointed! Called in again yesterday only to find all...

Stayed here in March. My father had mobility problems and couldn't manage the stairs so they were brilliant in switching rooms to accommodate him on the ground floor. Very helpful staff, lovely rooms some with a river view. Yummy breakfast! would stay here again.
