We stayed at The Bell for two nights from 17th March and it definitely didn't disappoint. From when we arrived till the moment we left we felt at home and welcome. There's always a moment of apprehension when you first open the door to a hotel room. We were very happy with what was behind the door, the room was...

The Bell was very accommodating and exceptionally helpful with a place to rest after a lengthy trip with my world on my back. Travelling to Sandwich was a seven generations family affair and finding my roots on my Great Grandmothers side of the family. The Bell is a challenge though when it comes to mobility because while they advertise a...

We had a superior room overlooking the river which was lovely. The bed was big and comfortable and the ensuite was a fair size and had the usual toiletries. Our only disappointment was the food. We had dinner on Sunday night and the tuna steak I ordered arrived overcooked and cold. The waitress was very apologetic and explained they were...

Welcomed by friendly helpful receptionist. Booked dinner for 7.30p.m. Booked into superior room, No 26. Large, airy well decorated bedroom, with easy chairs, so often missing from hotels now. Double door onto balcony overlooking the river. Maybe could do with the balcony cleaning more often, as obviously has pigeons on roof overhead. Bathroom large, clean, tiled, bright. Power shower over...

Good welcome, lovely big room as expected. A few niggling problems with the level of cleanliness, it was sorted out immediately. Room looked tired, carpet, cushions, sofa chairs needed cleaning, alongside the paintwork. Barman first night was really helpful and we received a warm welcome. Breakfast, good variety of cold offering but the hot choice took too long to arrive...

Let's start with the positives: Lovely old building, pleasant enough room, comfy bed, decent bathroom, nice bar and restaurant, good evening meal choices, well presented and cooked. Very efficient receptionist and girl with pigtails behind the bar. Negatives: seemingly no management in the restaurant, evening or breakfast, senior woman at breakfast heard to say"first come first served" when asked for...

We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who explained where breakfast was in the morning. She also told us about parking arrangements as there are only four spaces in front of the hotel. There is a large car park about 100 yes away and costs about £8 a day, however if you are intending to go out for the...

Lovely room very clean. Great location plenty of pubs and shops within walking distance. Food was nice but needed seasoning and it seemed to effect the quality of what you received if the restaurant was busy. Staff very friendly and helpful.
