The room, whilst clean, was higher than it was wide and felt like a cell. The bathroom looked to be a converted wardrobe, the shared balcony running along the first floor was dirty and studded with junk as was the garden you overlooked. Such a shame that this lovely old building had not been converted with more care and been...

I've stayed many a hotel / b & b and I have to admit, this was wrong on all accounts. The rooms had mold appearing on the ceilings. The double glazed windows were shot, couldn't even see outside. The beds were the old nuclear bunker Spring beds, and even a twiglet would get a bad back. I had the lines...

My partner and I had a four night stay at the Nayland rock hotel in August. It was the first time I had visited margate for over twenty years so a lot has changed. Carol and her staff were amazing at making us feel welcome. Coffee and toast as soon as we arrived in the morning and a continental breakfast...

This hotel has had a few bad reviews but it's got all you need and more when you just want b & b, I was met by a lovely lady called carol and her daughter both were lovely and Freindly and treated us like regulars. The room was dated but spotlessly clean and with the balcony offered an amazing sea...

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night. We wanted a place close to the train station and the sea - which is the exact location of this hotel. The hotel had typical English seaside atmosphere. Our room was okay, tidy with clean bathroom. People there and especially the owner were very lovely. Only inconvenient thing was the thin walls...

The past glory of the Nayland Rock Hotel is apparent from the moment you enter.. what a fabulous place and it still has heaps of atmosphere. Our room was clean, with an exceedingly comfortable bed made up with decent, spotless linen and had an equally spotless bathroom with a tiny shower. The room was cosy, despite the 'bracing' weather, and...

I brought a group of students to stay at Nayland Rock Hotel during a field trip. There was a perfect variety of rooms for us - double, twins and dorm style rooms for groups. Carol the owner couldn't have been more helpful - we had a bit of a complicated booking and she went out of her way to help....

I stayed here for one night while working in Margate you can see it was once a great hotel but sadly it's old and tired now the owner makes the place with her cheerful way I was on business so did not book or pay for the room so cannot comment on value for money

For as much as the owner lady and her lovely little black dog can be nice and welcoming, this is defetly a place to avoid. The rating stars compared to the internatinal standards would be barely 1 star. Everything is extremely tired and dirty. I don't think I need to add more
