This was my second stay at smiths court hotel and it couldn't have been more different from my first visit. The shower wasn't working so I had to bath instead and hurt my knee getting in the bath. The radiator half fell off the wall when I tried to turn it on. Both the shower and the radiator were fixed...

Oh dear! We are so sorry that your second experience did not match your first, and that there were problems with your room (although thank you for writing that the maintenance problems were sorted immediately). We are sorry, too, that you experienced a problem with another guest. If we're lucky enough to have you revisit for a third time, please make...

What do you want from a seaside hotel, well all the usual things like a decent room, comfy bed. fluffy towels, lashings of hot water, a sea view, and if it really is close to the sea, well so much the better! I don't stay in many hotels but when I do it tends to be for a while, and...

Thank you for your very honest and good humoured review. This is our first business venture, and while we have a very clear vision for the Smiths Court, it's sometimes hard not to take criticism personally. So - most of all - from Abbie, me and our staff, thank you for being so fair!

We arrived, having booked through an internet booking agency. The area itself is a little on the rough side but there is a nice park across from the hotel. when we got in, we were immediately disappointed with the scruffy and outdated appearance of the foyer. The leather look sofas were torn, the windows were dirty. It was busy on...

Thank you for your very full review, and for your kind remarks about our staff. Were you to visit today, the hotel lounge has already undergone a transformation with the new chesterfield settees and armchairs, and we're still working hard to refurbish all of the bedrooms - we reckon maybe 12 to go - but then, of course, we have...

We stayed in this hotel whilst visiting family in Westgate. It is a 10 minute walk (or less!) to the main part of Margate beach which is very convenient for sightseeing and getting the bus to elsewhere. The hotel itself is on the shabby side and needs updating in places, but the restaurant area is very nice and our rooms...

Thank you for taking time to review our hotel. We've enjoyed a glorious summer of weather, and i'm delighted to say we've also enjoyed lots of guests during this time, but you're absolutely right , we're now looking a bit shabby round the edges - although less so than when you stayed, as we took delivery yesterday of some beautiful...

Luckily only had to stay one night, after finally finding the room located at the back of the hotel through a warren of shabby corridors we were disappointed at the shabbiness of the room. Grubby yellowing wallpaper, sticky patterned carpet which felt weirdly greasy underfoot. Dark chipped wooden furniture, the dressing table stool was falling apart, had I been a...

I was not a guest at this hotel as I live nearby but had a roast dinner there this week. It was extremely good value and the staff were very attentive. Everything was as it should have been and I would thoroughly recommend the restaurant.

Upside to this hotel were the cheerful, helpful staff and the really comfortable bed. Prior to our stay, we received an email to alert us to the fact that there would be a wedding with a disco going on until 1am. The place is so solidly built that we barely heard a thing. Less positively, the place is greatly in...

I booked a standard double room over the bank holiday weekend, and I must say I was very disappointed. the room was on the ground floor just to the left of the reception and in need of updating. No lock on the bathroom door, broken toilet seat and panel on the bath cracked. bath was clean but washbasin and toilet...

Very disappointing hotel which in no way resembles the photos on the website, very shabby and tired and extremely overpriced, we asked for rooms with baths and got showers although one didn't actually work at all. They also wanted to charge 5 pounds for room service! Food was also very disappointing and I would certainly advise against evening dinner. There...

Whilst I have found the hotel very clean and comfortable. I was shocked to find I'm still waiting for my breakfast an hour and a half after ordering it! This is not what I was expecting! Please do something about your chef. All I can hear is his shouting..
