Whilst the food at the bar in this hotel has always been variable at best, on our last visit it reached a new nadir. We should have been warned by overhearing two complaints before placing our order for lunch. The first was about the complete lack of variety in the so called 'fish' pie and the second was about the...

Booked this last minute for our wedding anniversary as I remembered reading an article about it. Booked a superior room, which was very spacious. Staff very friendly. The only downside was no wifi in our room, but not really an issue for one night, and wifi was available in the lounge and bar areas.

We stayed here for four nights in mid May. So often hotel facilities are measured by things we don't want eg. spas, pools, fine dining etc. Here though you have a truly different experience. Floor boards holding witness to centuries of historic tristes, rooms with luxurious slipper baths, drifting off to sleep with the sound of shingle reluctantly parting from...

My partner and I have stayed in this hotel many times over the last five years. We stay a few times every year. Comfortable, welcoming and from my perspective excellent customer service. They cater for my low fat, low sugar diet and always helpful and friendly. Three rooms with balconies overlooking the beach. Below the rooms is the outside area...

Stayed in Lady Hamilton room and it was brilliant . Fashionable decor, huge comfortable bed, great adjoining bathroom, good breakfast looking directly over the sea from our own balcony. Very special experience. Helpful staff. Recommend a visit to Walmer Castle. Hope to return to Deal one day.

The hotel kindly upgraded me as they were quiet, and the room I was given was simply divine. the décor was beautiful, the rolltop slipper bath as well as monsoon shower were divine. The lighting with dimmer was exceptional. the Krups coffee machine plus selection of pods most welcome. That is without the ceiling to floor window overlooking the sea...

Stayed for a couple of days, and from the reservation process handled smoothly by Natasha & Rachel, through to a warm greeting upon arrival the quality of the staff shone through. Because of high occupancy we had to change rooms, the first a very spacious feature room directly on the sea, quite exceptional and very spacious. The furniture was a...

Lovely place to eat and main courses looked super, but some friends and I ordered what were supposed to be hot ciabatta sandwiches with brie and tomato inside. When they came, I was surprised to see that the sandwiches were stone cold, and the tomato had been replaced with beetroot! - the bottom of the sandwich was totally soggy from...

We stayed for 1 night for our wedding anniversary at the Royal Hotel deal, and we couldn't fault it. We had a premium room the "Wellington Suite" which overlooked the sea, so sitting out on our balcony with this view was great. Check in at reception was very friendly and quick and our room was ready early, which was a...

This hotel is charming, it is old and has wonky floors, super views and in the main building big bedrooms and an impressive staircase (but no lift) which adds to the character. The staff are great, the location on the beach is fantastic although car parking is expensive and on a sunny day troublesome at times. Breakfast was excellent, a...
