Been there recently with the wife and kids.
The food isn't the best but the view certainly makes up for it.
The staff seamed a bit unexperienced but friendly.
We will be back to check if anything has changed.
Lovely oldstyle english seaside hotel. Big modern rooms. Breakfast is really lovely, no buffet, you are actually served breakfast at the table and breakfast is delicious. Located right on the beach. Very friendly staff. Nice restaurant and bar, good food. Will come back.

Risotto was terrible - it was not risotto and had a strange tasting sauce.

Yes next to the Royal in council car park but make sure you purchase ticket for overnight and then in the morning if leaving car after certain time. I think you need a ticket after 9:00am but it is cheap.
